Damn! I've practically spent $585 in getting a perfect suikoden II game and still I get screwed on ebay... I got 3 games each claiming to be mint and they arrived with scratches... now I decide to order a Factory sealed one so I can get it NEW.. and bam.. reseal...

I cant do anything bout the past 3 games since more than 60 days have passed but I just got the "Sealed" one today.. what should I do??
The plastic wrap seemed loose.. so I inspected it, and on the top it lookes like it was glued. and the sticker inside looks like it was opened on the corner and carefully lifted to open the game case...

heres the auction

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=230471003627

any help is appreciated... I hate ebay and the damn scammers!

Take a few closeup pictures, specially of the "glued" portion, to see what others say.

And you really need to reduce your spending habits. LOL j/k

That's some awfully wrinkly plastic for a sealed game. We could definitely use some more pictures.

You've spent almost $600 to buy 4 copies of the same game, because of a couple scratches that paying $2 to use a buffing machine could have dusted off?

I now understand Justin Bieber's popularity.

I know that money is nothing when you love a game.

That's really sad to hear. Do you live in the same country as the seller ?
If you do you can register the fact in the policy.

If you don't you can send pictures to paypal. Once I've bought an apple ipod and it came broken. I e-mailed paypal, went to the policy and got my money back.

Hope this helps.

I really want to use a smile, is this a bad time to use this one :sob: ?

This is why I will never use eBay or talk to a Justin Bieber fan.

They are one and the same- full of overpriced, inflated objects that could be found in real life with a bit of looking around your area.

Also, who would go ahead and buy four copies of one game? Where is the sense in that?

I'd file a complaint with ebay. I thought that ebay offered money back protection including shipping if the item is not as described.

That's some awfully wrinkly plastic for a sealed game.

My thoughts exactly. From viewing just the pics that were offered I wouldn't have purchased it.

I'd recommend this. Throw them all back up on Ebay, including the sealed. Sell the sealed one as sealed and the rest as light scratches, that way you'll make your money back.

I remember seeing a similar situation like this a few weeks to a month ago with another DP member. LOL

Doesn't look like a reseal to me but I dunno. I mean, it's got the hangtab on the back and the seal with the bar code is still in place on the jewel case. You sure you just don't have a buyers remorse issue at the moment?

Contacted the seller, he claims he bought it from a 100% feedback seller years ago, he also said that he would accept a return for a full refund or "partial refund".. Im tired of partial refunds. Answering the question on how many copies I ordered, no, I ordered one by one, but I always ended up getting scratched discs, I want the disc to be MINT thats why I decided on getting a sealed game. So what to do? what if I send the game and he keeps it and says he didnt received it? I fear of doing this without making a claim.. :(

Just make damned sure that it's a re-seal before doing anything. You don't wanna send back something that is truly a factory sealed game. Take some extreme close ups for us.

It's easy: ship it using either Delivery Confirmation or Signature Confirmation. Once the selle receives it, you have proof of delivery.

I would just open a Paypal claim, elevate the dispute to a claim, select "NOT AS DESCRIBED" and just wait until Paypal tells you to ship the item back. Provide the DC code and once it says "DELIVERED", your entire funds will be returned.

I would add one more thing, however. I would add USPS Insurance together with Signature Confirmation. That's me, anyway.

That would be fraud and is not tolerated here.

It's not fraud if he can't tell whether it's a reseal or not and it possibly is sealed. He also said the others had scratches so putting them on Ebay and I'm only assuming that being listed as Mint they had light scratches and weren't all gashed up and stuff. Obviously if they were scratched up I'd test them out and list them as tested but scratched.

As long as he is honest about it, unlike a past situation (a different thread) concerning the rarebucky fiasco.

There is a difference between saying that it's "sealed", and that it's "factory sealed".

Semantics I think. You still might be misleading people to think it's original when the seller might have his own doubts to it's authenticity.

Also, who's Justin Bieber? Seriously.

I would just put something like "a copy of", and avoid terms like "new" and "sealed" alltogether.

Also, I agree...who the hell is Justin Bieber?

EDIT: Seems like a Canadian that got his chance from Youtube.

As others have mentioned your spending habits need to be examined. I can understand being an avid collector but at some point you would be better off with your money in your pocket. You need to choose reputable sellers to deal with. Its pretty simple to spot a reliable seller from a shady one, and any reliable seller will have buyer protection.

Just drop it man, it's just a game, it doesn't have to be perfect.

Dude, Paypal chargeback, ask for full refund and ship the item back with delivery confirmation.

Problem solved.

Hell you'll win the PP dispute regardless.

wingzrow

Agreed. It sucks as a seller but there's basically no way to win a paypal dispute without some cold hard evidence. Complain your ass off, you'll get your cash back.

Fool me once shame on you. fool me 3 or 4 times...I need to get a new hobby. Seriously, that's more than what a lot of people get paid, maybe it's time you put your credit card down and cut your losses.

If you have doubts about the condition of something as this guy obviously does and have strong reason to believe the condition is not as it was described to you originally, you can't then turn around and advertise it on Ebay as "sealed". That's fraud. You can certainly advertise that it was represented to you originally as sealed, but it has indications that it's not as it was originally described. That's called being an honest seller. If you can't see the difference, maybe you need to take some time and think about how it is that you can't comprehend basic honesty in dealing with others.

OP i looked at the pics and i think they looked sealed. the binding still has the offical psx seal, so even if the plastic wrap is a reseal, the disc case was never opened.

Selling the other copies he bought is not fraud. The other one, eh, I wouldn't know. The light scratches ones should be fine to sell.

If the OP didn't think it was a reseal then he wouldn't be interested in reselling it in the first place therefore his reselling it as new would be fraud.

** Moved to Everything Auctions**

Buying sealed anything requires many pics, ones that are closer than what was provided in the auction. You shouldn't have any problem w/ the chargeback as has been mentioned if you get a DC w/ signature confirm.

Wtf is Justin Bieber, and why's he been mentioned in a thread like this?

This may have nothing to do with the buyers concern, but, the seller does state in the description that "There is a small tear in the factory seal at the top of the case, about an inch in length." That statement alone would have raised a red flag to me. Then again, I didnt read this posting 100% through and I may be missing the point. If so, accept my apology.

if you look closely the psx seal had been opened, you can tell because it is raised at the right corner. its very hard to tell from the pics, but its there.

Bah. This is why I have a low opinion of fake "collectors". You don't buy a sealed game of such age/rarity, just to purposefully devalue it by opening the seal.

There's no in-game benefit to doing so. Besides it's a waste of money compared to a similar condition near mint copy. If one is going to buy sealed, keep it that way.

All I can add is that if I've already dropped $500+ on trying to get a perfect, mint, never-before-touched-by-human-hands copy of a game, I'd be a lot more scrupulous with pictures and asking a ton of questions of the seller.

If I had not been able to comprehend that my OCD with with the condition of things was killing my pocketbook, I'd definitely use this series of events as a wake-up to find a way to learn to let stuff like this go. Granted, I don't know you financial situation, but dropping that kind of coin on such a quest(not to mention that it seems that you're just throwing money at it and not doing enough research) seems foolish to me and many others, I'm sure.

Buyer agreed for me to verify if disc was mint, so I opened it and yep, the disc is new, I dunno why the game was resealed but the game itself is new, so he offered a refund of $205 all has been resolved thank god. thank you all for your replies. Now I need a Sealed BoF III :) I just need perfect discs, I am a perfectionist and I can resell all the other copies So money wise is no problem, I will ask for more pictures next time I spot a sealed game on ebay. :)
