I am a video game collector, and today at Goodwill I came across a brand new sealed gold N64 controller. I needed another one for my N64, so I bought it. When I got home I got to thinking that it might be rare or uncommon. Apparently it was only sold at Toys 'R Us for a certain amount of time. I searched the internet on such sites as Amazon and Ebay, and found some of these gold controllers, but I could not find a single one of these gold controllers that was sealed. In the video game collecting community, sealed = a lot more valuable.
Does anyone know what this could be worth? I'm thinking if I can get enough for it, I might just sell it and use the cash to buy some used N64 controllers and some games.
Here's a link to what it looks like

First of all, welcome to Digital Press.
Secondly, what I'd do is take the current value whatever that may be of the opened ones, and double it. So if an opened one is going for $10, shoot in the dark and say it's worth $19.99. BTW: What are they going for opened?
Third, there is a "What's it worth" section here, but since you are new I guess we can forgive you, but only this one time! :wink 2:
Really, on sealed things. If there is no current value, or it's something that's somewhat rare or uncommon, it's only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. So if you are thinking about selling it you have two options on Ebay.
Start it at .01 cent, and see what happens.
Start it at a somewhat higher value than you might think it's worth, take excellent pictures, explain that it was Toys R' Us exclusive, etc etc. and see if someone bites. If not then lower the price or repost the auction at a .01 starting bid. If you don't feel safe with starting it at 1 cent, set a reserve so that you are at least making a few bucks more than what you payed for it + shipping + your time.
Again, welcome to Digital Press - you should introduce yourself.

Someone near my area is looking for sealed N64 controllers, offering $80 per controller.
