Hello all.

Before I became an avid hardware collector, my forte was definitely in early PC gaming. I loved everything about them, from maxing out my early PCs memory by editing the autoexec/config files (yes - old gamer here) to trying to figure out the sound card drivers. I have a number of old PC games that I want to pass on to another's collection. Like a fool, I threw away all the boxes back in my youth though all of them are in the original CD packaging and most have an insert/directions of some kind.

This is my first post in this forum, so let me know if you need more info than just the titles that I am presenting to you. The list:

Battlezone
Beach Head 2000
Betrayal in Antara

$2-$3 each. They're not really worth much without the packaging.

Thanks for the feedback guys - much appreciated. Think I'll put them all together in a lot and try to get them to a good home of some PC gaming enthusiast.

Not to hijack this thread, but are boxed PC games worth anything? I have many of those (and many many others) complete and boxed. I've toyed with getting rid of them since I'm not a PC gamer and they take up a ton of room, but I didn't think they were worth much.

Some boxed PC games are worth money, but it really depends on what it is.

System Shock for instance can go upwards of $100+

There are several complete copies on ebay with buy-it-nows around $50. I don't trust buy-it-nows too much, I feel complete copies would be worth closer to $20-$30(I still wouldn't pay that much though).

System Shock can go for $100 on peak seasons, like around Christmas.

Many of those games were also rereleased via digital distribution.

I would definitely do a quick spin through eBay on what you have. You really never know what title be desirable and worth selling.

I might do that. I have many popular titles (all the Blizzard stuff, Sierra, Lucas Arts, etc.), who knows which are collectible? I think I saw somewhere that my Wing Commander collection (Kilrathi Saga) was worth something.

Depends on the version the diskette version is worth much more than the CD version.

I thought only the second game was worth a lot, I know I passed on a boxed copy at a thrift store awhile back because it was over $5, I forget exactly how much it was priced but it was between $5-$10.

I guess I got lucky though, just over a week ago I came across a copy of the Origin Pak at a yard sale for $2. It contains System Shock, Wing Commander III, and Bioforge. I have no idea what it's worth as I can't find another copy listed anywhere. It doesn't really matter though, I'm keeping it and I'll get around to playing the games when I can. I rarely find stuff at yard sales so I'm really happy with it. :)

Here's the diskette version, $50 buy-it-now. Maybe it's a great deal, I don't pay that much for old PC games so I don't know for sure.

I'm not much of a PC game aficionado myself but the last time I had checked up on System Shock it was $100, but we all know the market fluctuates a lot. I still regret not getting Snatcher when it was floating around $60.

Still, my point was that there are PC games that can get pricey, it just takes some digging to find out which ones are worth their salt.

I'm sorry, I meant System Shock 2.

And I found a copy of that Origin pack... once... without any games. *cries*

Your looking at very roughly at least $160-180 in a lot depending on moderate shipping costs. Sold individually with a little patience, many of those you could get around $5 - $10 each if you have the manual. If you sell them internationally, quite possibly more.

180$? YOu must be kidding. 30-50$ at most luck

Gave away some to friend/collectors... Ended up with 31 left. Put them up for $34 for the lot. Thanks again for everyone's thoughts.
