sega genesis games question

Forgive my lack of sega knowledge, but are those old games that have the grid like background on the box (as in Out Run) dirt common? Any of them worth more than say $5?

Some are, some aren't. Example: Herzog Zwei, fairly rare. ToeJam & Earl, fairly valuable,Tommy Lasorda Baseball, very common.
