Just out of curiosity, what would you say each of the following is worth?

Complete Laseractive collection. System, all 3 US pacs (NEC, Sega, and Karaoke), none of which are boxed, with the Sega and NEC Laseractive branded controllers. All US released games. The rare ones are all either complete or sealed.

Complete (minus 1 game) Sega Saturn US collection. All games are CIB (some missing foam), most in very good condition. Only game missing is Daytona Netlink Edition. System boxed, complete with multitap, 6 controllers, arcade stick, two stunners, a memory card, and Gameshark.

Lastly, if you were to sell either of the above, would it be better to sell together or to split? I don't think I've seen either complete collections on ebay ever for either system.

Thanks!

As with any collection you've got to find someone who either needs everything, or enough of what you've got to make it worth their while to buy, especially the big collections. Shipping usually isn't fun either for the big collections.

You will make more breaking them apart, but you run the risk of only selling the rarer stuff and being stuck with the drivel that no one wants. Selling in a big collection restricts who's going to have the funds available to buy the collection as well. A few hundred game Saturn collection isn't going to be cheap, and for someone to have the X thousand dollars it's worth might not be easy to come across, especially in these economic times, but then again crazy auction sales for boxed Air Raids, NWC carts and Stadium Events have happened in the last 6 months.

What most people do is do mixed and matched sets. Sizeable lots with games that go form very rare to not rare at all. That way the person bids trying to get their game but htey also go a little over because they feel they are getting an added value with these other games, which in reality are the same as nothing, they just raise the number of games on the headline. I feel to it a couple of times and ended up with a bunch of sports titles i traded in for around 50 cents each, but i did get what i wanted but i spent more than what i planned to.

For the saturn? Definently split. It's right up there with the neo geo, turbografx 16, and even some SNES & ps1 games, as far as crazy high prices go. I only own ONE sega saturn game because all the good ones are crazy expensive.

That's not even close to true. There are a handful of Saturn games that are pricey while the bulk of the library is in the $10 or less range. Having said that, splitting it up still makes sense given that there probably aren't too many people out there with the funds or interest in an entire Saturn collection at once.

He did say the GOOD ones were expensive. Which doesn't apply to the "bulk" of the library. =p

Thanks everyone for the input. Seems a complete Saturn collection was only desired by me!
