I was looking up footage from Action Max games on Youtube, and I came across videos for another '80s era VCR game system put out by Bandai called the Video Challenger. It looks to be a fairly identical system to the Action Max, and it's got some more familiar 'game' titles including Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Sega's Afterburner, and yet I've never heard about this thing before. There's not a lot of info about it online, either. Was it a European release only, or did it make it to the US? Anyone have one by any chance? I'd love to know more about this thing.

Bandai released it in the UK. Takara released it in Japan. Irwin released it in Canada. A company called Select Merchandise was supposed to release it in the US. I don't know if the product originated there. There was an Australian eBay auction (http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:Y9o6U60jWsYJ:cgi.cafr.ebay.ca/SELECT-CHALLENGER-VCR-ARCADE-GAME-MADE-USA-1987-/130377245883) for a Select Merchandise Video Challenger "made in the USA."
