gameboy cart repair help

Hi, i have a pokemon yellow cart, i polished and cleaned it with a mars eraser and the contacts look great.

but the game still just shows a blank screen after the nintendo logo and the beep.

so i looked at the pcb and noticed that on C5 there is no resistor, but on all the other locations there are.

is there supposed to be a resistor there? how do i know what strenght?

right now it is just 2 solder points.

any ideas?
could this be the problem?

if the battery was dead wouldnt it still come up?

If it's completely missing and doesn't look like one has ever been installed there, then its probably supposed to be that way.

I don't have one to look at inside or anything. Make sure you clean the contacts REALLY good if they are dirty. If it's just as clean as it can possibly be, and your game boy is working fine then you might just have a bad game.

Take a close-up pic that we can see clearly and we'll be able to tell you if something is broke or not. I would think that if nothing fell out of the cart when you opened it up that it's fine.

yeah that is what i figured. i cant seem to find a pic of pokemon yellow.

i have cleaned it very good.

what could cause a bad cart? i got a reflow station and guess i will try to reflow the eproms if possible, but all the legs look ok.

dammit, i really need to get this going. i got it to black screen a couple of times.

what is there to test with a multimeter on these things?
