Hey, folks. I found a fascinating (and nostalgic) picture book at the library over here in Japan, so I had fun scanning all the pages & poring over cool little tidbits in all the photos.

Looking at some of these photos, I think Nintendo Power used them in their SMB 3 issue...

Indeed, but Nintendo Power didn't use the same photos. They did use similar photos from the same photo shoot. NP might have also gotten the idea for the article from that book, too.

Those pictures of Miyamoto are pretty sweet.

Thanks for going through the effort to do this.

On pages 8-9, what are the mags/books stacked up that you can see "between their heads"?

EDIT: Oh, and thanks for taking the effort to scan and translate this!

Loved the pictures of FDS games getting copied by hand and NESes getting assembled.

The mags between their heads are just issues of "Shonen Jump", the weekly manga.

Very nice. That looks like it took a lot of work, but it's definitely enjoyed. :)

Thank you for this. It was very informative. Also was weird to see miyamoto [at least for me] at this age as most of the pics i usually see are 95-on though i have seen a few from early 80s just not from late 80s

Thanks Again!:)
