I recently got a sega saturn and it doesn't read any saturn games.

It turns on everything seems to be okay but then i hear the motor making this weird sound and the cd won't spin most of the time. Other times it'll spin but still won't read it. I think the motor might be screwed up but what i was really wondering was is there a way to replace the motor in these things or am i basically screwed? I'm thinking the motor is a common part that could be replaced since i have an electronics shop near me and they carry these type of motors. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

It would likely be easiest to find another busted saturn, that has the same shape buttons (round or oval), and swap laser assemblies. Not too hard to do. failing that, you could cannibalize another broken laser assembly, and make a working one. Also, I've seen a Saturn laser assembly that was simply off it's internal rails, and I 'snapped' it back into place restoring function. Go inside and take a look. It's already not working.... :)

Good Luck!
