Armored Warriors/Powered Gear (Capcom, 1994, Arcade. A precursor to Cyberbots)
Alien vs. Predator (Capcom, 1995, Arcade. Brilliant use of the licenses)
Battle Circuit (Capcom, 1997, Arcade. Possibly the last great hand-drawn side-scrolling brawler)
Ghost Chaser Raisei (Banpresto, Super Famicom)
Guardian Heroes (Treasure, 1996, Saturn. The best side-scrolling fighter ever.)

Crime Fighters(arcade)

By the choices in the original post, I think Gamereviewgod wanted side scrolling beat-em ups, not side scrolling action games like Castlevania. Thats what I thought anyway.

Right Gunstar...I've always called them "fighters." Sorry for the confusion. I've got all I needed, but if you want to keep naming them, more power to ya. It's my favorite specific genre of games EVER. I never knew Ultraverse Prime was a side-scroller on the Sega CD. I'll have to check it out. Thanks guys! Check out my Burning Fight Neo Geo review here on the site (which should be posted soon) to see the your contribution at work!

One more: how about Zombie Revenge (Dreamcast)? It's a modern(ish) scrolling beat'em up, but always seems to get overlooked.

If Zombie Revenge counts, then so does Spike Out and Slash Out, I imagine.

Anyone here familiar with Korean games? I saw this cool-looking game called Storm (published or developed by something called "Moov Generation", I think) that fit the bill.
