Kid Icarus SNES?

While cleaning out and organzing my ROMS on my older HD, I discovered a curious one -- Kid Icarus for the SNES?

It only brings up the title screen, though, which looks the same (but graphicaly sharper) then the NES game. Text is in English.

Anyone know anything about this?

That was a project that has since been abandoned, the focus being a 'Super Mario All-Stars' style port of the Icarus NES title. Whoever was behind it never got past the title screen part I guess.

The lack of a Kid Icarus update was one of the major tragedies of the 16-bit era.

The GB title wasn't too good.
