I realize this may alienate some people, as the 2600 had... not that many real personality characters. But still, I wonder if people here wished that a game girl or game guy were real at some point in their youth. Although this might prove to be a disturbing study into the psyche of gamers (or if I get a ton of "I never thought of game characters that way" a disturbing look into my own), I always wanted to ask.

to go first, my icon should give a good idea. However, my viewpoint is somewhat skewed, I played KoFs before Art of Fighting, so King was always "That busty woman in a suit" not "Wait, that's not a man?". I also like women in ties for some reason, so King always seemed like the coolest woman in the world to me.

...yeah, I'm nuts. I hope at least one person here vindicates this topic. *hopes*

I used to like Princess Peach as a girl. I had thought that she was pretty and being a princess---it made her seem rather speacial in a way. That was during the games on the NES, early nineties.

I also had a slight crush on Princess Camille from Little Nemo. My thoughts at the time were "how cool it would be, to have a Princess invite you into her world, someone special to share your time with."

Uhh...yeah. *Runs and hides*

Hmmm...so you had a crush on Birdo when he was a boy, before the sex change?

Alas, I went from the Atari 2600 to the Atari 130XE and then gave up gaming for a brief misguided period (i.e., "high school"), and so missed out on the entire NES stable of lovelies. Cuz I tell u what, there's not a lot of foxy ladies in the 2600 library.

Strawberry Shortcake? Nah...

After seeing the cartoon, I thought that Zelda was pretty damn cute... :embarrassed:

I knew at an early age never to trust Nintendo and the venomous lies it spewed from the nostrils of Yamauchi. Birdo's all woman and the Man was simply trying to keep her down with incredible fabrications.

I had a gaming-related crush as a young'un, but it was on a real girl -- my upstairs neighbor Ivy, with whom I played through King's Quest on her dad's IBM PCjr. She was the first female I'd ever encountered with even the slightest interest in gaming, and she's still one of the few. Hardcore-gamer guys with hardcore-gamer grrrls are the luckiest sumbitches in the universe.

Maybe the Birdo conversation confused me here, but are you saying you like Peach as a girl, or you liked Peach when you were a girl?

and Zmeston, you got lucky at an early age. I'm lucky to have a gaming girl living with me, but when she goes on her MUD, she's tunes out the world. It's almost worse than EverCrack.

I'm a little surprised no one has mentioned fighting-game girls. Someone here has to like Chun-Li....

I'll admit it: I did.

Street Fighter II was released in 1994 or thereabouts right? I was only about 10. Chun-Li, embarrassing as it is, was my first crush. True, King was hot too (chick in a suit beating the shit out of people? Gorgeous.), and later Cammy (I didn't get out much, is it obvious?). But Mai... oh, sweet Mai... :D

BTW, my 350th post! Woohoo! :)

When I was a kid the only fighting game i played was SF2, and Chun-Li didn't strike me as a sex symbol until ALpha 3 came around. I took a rather large hiatus from fighters at that time, as you can guess.

Bad wording on my part, and it wsa late at night while I was writing (which I tend to do a lot). I used to like Peach, thought she was an attractive girl.

I'll admit it. I had it bad for Frostbite Bailey. But the Breakout paddle was pretty hot too.

I had a crush on the Princess in Neverending Story and also Jennifer Connally after seeing Labyrinth but those are both REAL WOMEN.

That's no good. Given the chances of ever meeting the likes of such real women and banging them an equal likelihood could be appropriated towards fictitious characters and similar circumstances coming about.

Mmm Birdo.

Yea, especially when one (Tami Stronach) has been MIA from history sense the movie was made and the other would probably just steal my stuff.

I thought Jill of the Jungle from that PC shareware game was hot...anything lower-res and / or with fewer colors (i.e. - the NES games with all the orange and red skin) and I start to lose interest.

EDIT: and I forgot about that lady from Golden Axe, I don't know what her name was.

Glad to know I'm not the only person that thought King was hot. When I worked at Gamestop, I can't tell you how many times I cringed when I'd reccomend a KoF game to someone, and show who I usually fought with.

"Who's that guy?"

....

"That's a woman. Her name is King"

"King? What kind of s*** is that?"

Ah. Good times.

I like Cammy when Super Street Fighter 2 came out

Especially the one where she wraps her legs around your head and tosses you.......shivers

I guess I should throw in Mai Shirauni here. SNK knows how to build their women. However, might I also add that the figurine of her from the KoF action figure series.... sucks lots of donkey.

Iori also looks like "Alexander" from Reign. Scary.

Let's also throw in Helena here for the hell of it. Lace bodice - :-D

IMDB says she's with Neta Dance Company now, so maybe you can find a performance...

I threw in Mai a little earlier. I agree, SNK knows how to build their women. Athena was pretty hot too, a soldier chick with blue hair, how can you go wrong?

Dude, did you see her in the KoF anime? She was even more stacked and swinging... i mean her fans... yeah...

Nobody mentioned Tyris Flare? Gosh, I have-- er, I mean HAD such a crush on her. Carrying swords, and casting fire spells on enemies speaks volumes in my book.
