I was just comparing the FFVII I own to one I bought recently. Both cases are black label but I noticed that one set of discs were white and the other silver. Upon further research it appears that the GH discs are silver and the black label are white, is this correct? Are there any further differences between the BL and GH versions of FFVII besides the green case and disc color?
You are correct that the Greatest Hits versions have the silver discs. As far as I know, the data is identical for each version.

So no manual or further case variations?

I was about to ask the same thing. On rfgeneration they have a few variations listed. One about an ESRB rating (I think this is and original release variation) and one about a Sephiroth misprint (I think this is a GH variation). Anyone care to clarify/elaborate?

This is a great PS1 collection site. I'm pretty sure Dangerboy owns it.

There are some versions that have a misprinting of the letter "i" on the back, some have different ratings (I think between realistic and animated blood or something of that nature). Some still have the image of Sephiroth in flames on both the front and back inside disc trays.
My question relates strictly to normal GH and normal BL versions of the game.

My copy of the game has one white disc and 2 silver, and the case is GH Sephy misprint. Is it worth more than another non misprint at all?

Yep, Original version is white discs, silver discs are greatest hits, if they are different or mismatched someone probably pieced it together.

Sounds like a piece-together. My copy of Panzer Dragoon Saga has one black disc-sleeve while the others are white. Like your game, someone put mine together in pieces.

I apologize for getting off topic... buy does Panzer Dragoon Saga actually come with black or white disc sleeves?

As for the manual, both the original and Greatest Hits manuals are exactly the same. FF7 is one of those rare cases (If not the ONLY case) where the Greatest Hits manual is not in black and white as opposed to the colored original one. It even still has the original 1997 advertisements, including one for that GameBrain MTV tape that was long since out of production by the time the Greatest Hits re-release rolled around.

I confess to selling an FF7 black box case with GH discs a few years ago. (I clearly stated that in the ebay listing though!) Sorry world. Maybe that's where the OP's copy came from? lol

Both. The first pressings came in black and the later came in white.

Yeah I think my Grandma bought it at GameStop for me back when they sold old games. I miss that. I would go there more often if they a) sold old games and b) werent trashing PS2 cases.
