I'm not sure how many of you are playing around in GameRoom, but I'm a sucker for it and the recent update whereby I can see how my current score ranks amongst the universe's best scores is awesome.

I picked up H.E.R.O. just this past week, and managed to score around 80,000 points (good for me), which put me at 34 out of 1000 people, so I'm feeling good about myself. Next thing I know I'm now 2,000th out of 20,000, not less than 12 hours after the last time I played a game.

Was there a big H.E.R.O. convention that happened that I wasn't aware of? River Raid still shows just over 2,000 scores - why hasn't it jumped to 20,000? (it's been out a lot longer).

Anybody know anything, or is there really just nothing to know, and 20,000 people happened to play H.E.R.O. one night on XBLA?

(My actual placement doesn't bother me in the least - I'm just hoping there's a H.E.R.O. convention and the next thing I need to be doing is inviting myself!)

I like the concept of Games Room, but in general it's a hot mess.

H.E.R.O. is a winner from the 2600 catalog and a welcomed addition, but based on the limitations of the service (no multiplayer, vanilla ports, etc.) I'm waiting for great games that haven't been offered before, anywhere ... and so far, we haven't gotten much.

Fingers still crossed, the potential is still there, they just need to get some more roms licensed for release.

Something definitely happened here, because the high score list now shows the top 1000 only again, and I'm right back where I was at number 34.

I'm guessing somebody hacked it or there was a massive bug. If anybody hears anything let me know - my curiosity is definitely peaked here.

I'm going with bug - the same thing happened to River Raid over the weekend (suddenly there were 20,000 scores to compete against, then just as suddenly it was down to 2,000).

The leaderboard itself (which you can access prior to starting the game) seems unaffected from what I could tell. I wonder if it has something to do with Windows gamers or something.
