Normal SNES or SNES 2?
EDIT:
I have the Gamebit to take them apart. I want to know which is easier to take apart for access to tabs to break them off.

Personally I'd just break the tabs off a Game Genie and use it as a passthrough. That way you don't harm the SNES itself.

I already have a Game Genie with the tabs broken off it works but I want to play games with chips in them so I need to mod a system

The SNES 2 doesn't have the cartridge lock mechanism, it'll save you the work of removing ~5 screws.
Every SNES 1 requires you to remove the power switch assembly.
Of course, you could just break the tabs from the outside making your question kind of moot.

I just tried breaking the tabs off of my SNES 1 it didnt work out to well i got one partially off and one is a little weird looking. I did it through the outside because my Gamebits dont work. i dont have pliers small enough to reach inside properly :(
