Now that the original Xbox is dead is there a list of all the limited editions (ex. Halo 2 limited collectors edition) and store exclusive variations (ex Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance preorder with bonus music disc) anywhere?
I was looking for a complete listing of all Xbox games and while most lists are close they all seem to be missing a few titles and none includes all the variations.
COLLECTORS EDITIONS
Doom 3 (steel book)
Halo 2 (steel book)
Jade Empire (foil insert)
Mortal Kombat (4 versions, all slipcover/foil inserts)
Mech Assault 2 (steel book)
Robotech (came in a big box w/ other stuff, exact same as the Cube/PS2 versions)
Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow (steel book)
Driver Parallel lines (collectors edition)
Godfather (collectors edition)
NFS most wanted Black edition

Good call on Robotech I forgot about that one.
Also these
Driver Parallel lines (collectors edition)
Godfather (collectors edition)
NFS most wanted Black edition
I guess I should start a list here.

Wasn't there a copy of Outlaw Golf that came with a sleeve of balls?

I recall another thread where the guy was collecting similar special editions of Xbox titles (including ones just boxed with accessories, ones that had store-specific coupons attached to the cellophane, etc) and he had some pictures. If you dig around the archives a bit you should be able to find it.

That would help a lot. I did dig and I didn't see that one. If anyone else has a link send it my way.

I can add what we have that hasn't already been mentioned:
True Crime NY (Steel book)
Marc Ecko Getting Up (Metal tin)
Did they release Tony Hawk's American Wasteland in an LE like the PS2 version, with the gravely slipcase? I'd say no as no sign of it on eBay.
We have every LE listed above except for Splinter Cell and we were pretty aggressive with the LEs back then. I can't imagine there being many more.

Does the Dead or Alive double pack that have Dead or Alive 1 and 2 count?

Counter Strike, although it was really just an extra numbered insert if you pre-ordered at Gamestop that they put in that weird wax paper people used when they bought blocks of collector's stamps.
Pics are in an old thread here:

a. Wait, there was a "steelbook" LE of Mech Assault 2? O_o
I have the LE version and it's a shiny cover in a regular case, 2 CD tray...
b. Are you sure it was Pandora Tomorrow? I thought it was Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory that had the steel book?
Ones I can add, or at least help in the right direction...
"Variants"
Several games have "Freebie" variants that were full, sealed games given away with the pre-order of another game. The actual sleeve states that it is a promotional edition. There's at least 2 or three. Midway Arcade Treasures 1 was a freebie to something. I *think* Spyhunter or Suffering was a Freebie for another game. Deadly Alliance may have been a freebie to something...
Halo has about 5 variants - see Papastu
Dead or Alive Xtreme Volleyball had 4 random 'motion' cards, 1 in each case. I can provide pics if needed
Hitman 2: Assassins has a disc / insert variant due to a later censored version. I believe the tell tale sign is either the lack of blood on one, or the color of the disc's logo / comments on the insert.
Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas will have regular, 2nd Print Variant, and PH variant
I thought Batman: Rise of Sin Tzu had a LE where it came with a figure. XBox got bat girl, PS2 got 1 of 3 (I think it was store specific)
Kakuto Chojin, if simply because it was recalled with no re-release.
NBA live 2003 has a with and without music CD variant. It was an internal 2 CD tray case.
As for US systems that I know...
"Regular"
Xbox with Original Controller
Xbox with S Controller
Xbox with Star Wars Clone / Tetris
Xbox with Sega GT / Jet Grind Radio(oooooooooo!!)
Xbox with Top Spin / NCAA Football
Xbox Halo Edition
Xbox Official Refurbished with Regular Controller
Xbox Official Refurbished with S Controller
"Prize / Redemption / Giveaway"
Mountain Dew Green Xbox
Incredible Hulk (I Swear it's just the Dew ones with a new jewel in top)
There's also the "Best of the Platinum Hits" variants...>_>

MechAssault 2 was a foil insert, not a steel book. I don't know why I did that in my first post. >_<

The ps2 has 4 figures, batman, batgirl, robin, and nightwing.
Do you know if there is a NBA live 2003 for the ps2, without the soundtrack?
Also don't forgot NASCAR 06: Total Team Control, has a walmart variant. Which is a pain in the ass to find. (for xbox and ps2)

There was a Halo 2 LE console set as well...was it only in Canada though? I do know Canada got the Crystal Xbox console (clear one), as well as a Bell Canada LE console set (clear blue w/a clear blue controller)

Since consoles have been brought up, there was a Hello Kitty Xbox. I only read about it here though. I think it was available in Korea?

This thread about "rare" Xbox games may also prove useful, as it lists some store exclusives and such.
