I'm after a replacement box for my copy of Earthbound on the SNES.

For some reason, my Earthbound box is quite damaged and I am trying to find a replacement for it. I've checked Ebay and all I get are excessively high BIN's, which is no surprise. I know a box can't be worth $90, as I am sure those listings have been there for quite some time.

So I was wondering if anyone knows of a fair price, and if there is anyone here that might have a nice, replacement box they might like to sell.

Thanks in advance!

When people are offering to sell EB complete for $250, I'm not so sure if $90 for an EB box is crazy. D:

Good point.

I did stumble across this completed listing, though:

http://cgi.ebay.com/EarthBound-Box-Only-Super-Nintendo-/200496130431?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Video_Games&hash=item2eae80297f

So it might be possible! :)

BTW, not related, but this douche needs to get his ass kicked:

I still can't believe people have the cojones to do shit like this. After that judge judy episode too. LOL

+1

Plus not a lot of people only have the box to sell, and nobody would break up a complete copy for less than that.

Hmm, you are right as well.

I could try to find one that comes with cart and box only, if possible, then sell the cart seperately.

Anyway, I will keep a close eye on Ebay and on DP just in case.

But if anyone has one, let me know! :)

i sold one without the tray insert that had some creasing with a buy it now of $60 and it sold within a day, so $90 for box with tray in nrmt is probably close

Sorry if this sounds stupid, but is it A repro or a fake or something?

He's selling a glossy photo of the Earthbound box. Reading the auction title and subsequent data is key! The initial title lists as Earthbound Glossy, then the title of the description is Earthbound Glossy Photo. Then at the bottom of the auction description in 6 point font (in grey color no less) a small description saying he'll send you a random Earthbound photo.

... Not to mention, if he's using that photo without permission, then he can get kicked off eBay. I could've sworn I've seen the guy who owns that site post here in the past.

Although not really related to my original topic, I have good news!

The douche has been NARU'd! :)

Ok, but going back to topic, although I am still looking for a replacement box and would prefer it, I think I will pick up a copy that is box and cart. I've seen a few of these on Ebay in the past, and they usually go lower than with the inserts/manual (which by itself can go up to $80!).

Let's see what happens. :)

Did he get suspended, or close the account once people caught up to his shenanigans?

So what's wrong with your box? I assume you have one since you are after a 'replacement', maybe I'm not reading that right, though. I ask because I now need a box and I'm less pick about condition than a lot of people.

Yeah if I were to part out my box I'd be looking at $90 or so for it myself. $90 does seem to be a "Fair" price considering the CIB goes for about $250.

Though I do agree that an open auction will probably not hit that price, but you'll have to be very patient to find one. GL.

If you find one, you can probably sell the damaged one for $60.
