try fremont street. las vegas club, golden gate and the plaza are all in the 30-40 range per night.

I've just checked a few hotels that still have rooms for 7/30-8/1

Without a car, the options for sub $100 category are Fitzgerald, Plaza, California, Vegas Club around Fremont Street or Sahara at the north end of strip. If you're driving, my personal favorites, Eastside Cannery and South Point, great values for your money, in fact I'd go to those places even without a car, Eastside Cannery has bus right in front that takes you to the strip at Flamingo, and South Point provides shuttle to the south end of strip (which is around Tropicana).
