I know that there are other DPers from Cincinnati around, so here is my tale of woe. I went to the GameSwap (a local indie game store chain) in Eastgate Mall this morning with a box of wares to get rid of to find that its storefront now lie empty. There were no referrals to other locations or a "We've Moved" sign, merely a FOR LEASE sign. Is this the case with the Florence, Tri-County, and Kettering location as well? I know that Ron also has a coin shop in Eastgate called Goldrush that seems to still be opened up, so I'm curious as to the situation.

I'm actually surprised this didn't happen sooner. Doesn't seem like they were moving any product, as I was seeing the same old games on their shelves for months. Sorry to hear the EastGate location is gone. I guess I have no more reason to go all the way out there.
I was most recently at the Florence location a few weeks ago, and all seemed well there... although they were selling most of their Genesis titles in a 4 for $1 sale. A buddy of mine cleaned up big time Sega-wise.
Was at the Tri-County location about 2 months ago, and everything seemed normal there as well. I really hope GameSwap doesn't go. They're my #1 stop for classic game collecting. :(

I confirmed that the Tri-County location is still in business this afternoon, although they were looking a bit light on inventory behind the counter. I especially liked the Eastgate location because I've been on a first name basis with most of the staff since day 1, either as Carey or "The Atari Guy." Patrick and Jimmy are great guys and it looks like they were dealt a shitty hand with the Eastgate store closing. I'm guessing that Ron #2 will find a place at another location, seeing as he's the resident console repair specialist. It pisses me off that my little corner of the world to go and geek out in is gone, but that's life.

I was just at the Florence location last night and they look the way they have been the last time I was there. Cute girl was working there when I went in....

Hey quick question about Cincinatti, I am actually coming to there this weekend to meet with my Uncle and Aunt, are there any good flea markets around?

The locals are Trader's World and Treasure Aisles (which is directly across the highway from it). Carey might be a bit better at answering that for you since he's a bit more "thrifty" than I, but I am aware of those two. They're both about 20-30 minutes north of the city.

Treasure Aisles seems to have more stalls with games than Trader's World - though Trader's World is larger. Anyways they are bascically across the street from each, so you can do both.

Gameswap from Eastgate Mall did in fact move to Amelia. The store is now in the strip mall at Ohio 125 and Bach-Buxton Rd. next to the Kroger store. It's in the same parcel that Pets-n-Such used to be in, if anyone local remembers that place.
