The DP Random Game Generator Which Also Chooses Consoles Sometimes (tm) has chosen Atari's Ultra Pong Doubles today.
It was Atari's last dedicated Pong unit and promised to have everything that any Pong lover could ever want, including loads of game variations, four players, and *gasp* COLOR!
Ever play one? They're not terribly common though from what I've seen lately people seem to NEED this in the box. As Pong games go, what did you think? Write your own mini-review here.
DP Guide sez:
Ultra Pong Doubles (Dedicated Consoles, by Atari) $15/R5 +
A four-player color update to Atari's Ultra Pong. Features 16 different games (Pong, Super Pong, Hyper Pong, Ultra Pong, Hockey, Super Hockey, Hyper Hockey, Ultra Hockey, Barrier Pong, Super Barrier Pong, Hyper Barrier Pong, Barrier Hockey, Super Barrier Hockey, Hyper Barrier Hockey, and Ultra Barrier Hockey) and simultaneous 4-player action. LANDMARK: This was the last Pong-type dedicated console released by Atari. Released 1977. #C-402-D.
