Title says it all. The other day I called up a close friend of mine, he said he had something for me, and since he knows that I'm into collecting he knew exactly whom to talk to. He starts off by telling me... "I got a package"...

"Oh really" I said, so whats ito me?

"It's an Atari", he told me, in a deep and sinister voice.

"Okay, 2600 I'm assuming"?

"No".

"Sooo..... 7800? 5200???"

"Try Jaguar, and you're gonna like what I'm about to tell you".

I was giddy, Tha Jaguar was the one console I had been looking for for the longest time.

Well apparently, the Jaguar was flawless, works perfectly, comes with all of the hookups, cybermorph, and get this, all of the original packaging and the box.

All this for free, he found it for me online, someone was getting rid of it so he said he just got it for me because he felt like being a nice guy. I'm going to pick it up tomorrow and so I ask...

What games should I look out for? Where can I get an S-Vid cable besides e-bay?

Thanks.

Your first few games should be Tempest 2000 and Alien vs Predator.

Congratulations! :)

Club Drive is a necessity for the system.

But in all seriousness:

Tempest 2000
Raiden
Rayman
NBA Jam T.E
Alien Vs. Predator

I'm starting to collect for the Jaguar (actually been at it for quite some time) and I only need a few to finish an official NTSC collection.

My personal pics are:

-Tempest 2000
-Towers II (very expensive, though not necesarily rare)
-Rayman
-Wolfenstein 3-D
-Ultra Vortek (unfortunately, it's the best fighter onthe Jaguar, just a inferior MK wanabe clone, though still decent)
-Alien vs Predator
-I-War (not for everyone, though I personally enjoyed it)

Another great game, IMO, is Cannon Fodder.

I've never read much positive (or otherwise for that matter) about this game on the Jag, probably because it could be played on the Amiga and DOS-based PCs, presumably equally well and for less money, but I only ever played it on the Jag and I thought it was a great game.

Folks have already listed other worthy Jag titles above. You probably would appreciate reading the forum's top 25 Jag games thread too - http://www.digitpress.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2146

The best game on Jaguar is hammer to console 9000

Atari Karts is fairly fun other than coming to a dead stop when you hit the side of certain courses, Iron Soldier is a fun 'giant robot' game and fairly cheap, Hover Strike is a good game once you come to grips with the style of vehicle control, I-War is a Tron-style tank game, Missile Command 3D is a fantastic game even without the VR helmet it was designed to be used with, and Zero 5 is a fairly difficult 3D shooter that's a little harder to find but still fun.

I'm a sucker for Flip Out! Fun puzzle game unlike anything else out there...and it is cheap!

Welcome to the club. I've had a Jag for about 12 years now and enjoy it very much.

Must haves: Iron Soldier, Tempest 2000, Alien vs Predator, Doom, Club Drive (it's funner than it looks), Attack of the Mutant Penguins.

Nice to have: Dragon - The Bruce Lee Story (I think it's better than the Genesis version), Atari Karts, Hover Strike (the sequel is actually better, but you'll need the CD drive).

All good from what I seem to gather. I've always felt that the Jaguar was the most interesting console I've ever read about. So much potential, yet so little use.

Tempest 2000 I remember playing LOOOOOOOOOOONG ago at a babysitters. She had that and some game where you drove around and I remember seeing the brooklyn bridge or something similar.

Currently I want Doom and Wolfenstein 3D, as I love those games.

Super burnout

Alien vs Predator (hard to find at the right price though)

And of course you will need Tempest 2000. And to play it properly, you will want a rotary controller. Oh, and I happen to make rotary controllers :bigmac:

I forgot to add Wolfenstein 3-D but I see others already mentioned it, and for good reason! It's a great version!

Would you believe- MADE IN AMERICA

Apparently, original development was by some Poms, who took it to Atari to manufacture

Raiden is probably the best one, but there are others; Defender 2000 and Trevor McFur in the Crescent Galaxy.

Protector SE from Songbird Productions is a good horizontal shooter and better then Defender 2000 (and far better then Trevor McFur).

I've heard of Raiden. I'll give them all a shot.

So tell me, where can I find an S-Video cable for them? Besides Ebay.
