If you're a gamer who buys fairly frequently, you have GOT to pay the $10 to get the EB Edge card. It costs $10, you get a great magazine subscription, and you get 10% off on all used games.

The past 2 months, they have had a special that if you bought 5 used games or more you got 20% off the total price, plus 10% for being a member. Just a few games and you've paid off the $10, plus you get the magazines (which are pretty good.)

This weekend I got... (all PSX complete)

Suikoden
Klonoa
Rhapsody: A Musical Adventure
Echo Night
Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain
Mr. Driller
Rat Attack
Shipwreckers! (cute)
Spider
Skullmonkeys
Torneko (a Dragon Warrior spin-off)
The Adventures of Tron Bonne (MegaMan spin-off)
Glover
Hydro Thunder
Jersey Devil
Warriors of Might & Magic
Batman Beyond (crap)
Chicken Run
Crusaders of Might & Magic

Axelay (loose) for SNES

Grand total? A whopping $115.48

That's $5.75 a game, and a few of these games are really good. TWENTY games for less than the price of three recent PS2 or X-Box games? I'm so there.

:D

I got the card because I bought a subscription to the magazine. I'll never go back to use it though.

I've had the card for 2 years now, though I got mine from Gamestop, it is really helpful, saving 10% on used games AND getting a mag subscription, count me in!

I rarely buy used games there cause in Canada, EB sells used games for WAY too much....like $65-75 used + tax.

Yeah, they just opened two EBgames here and they are both SWEET. With most of the other secondary markets drying up, they have become a classic gaming oasis around here. And that $10 card is magic. :) :) :) :)

(psst! It's a different club) Gamestop & EB are two different companies, but EB has just implemented it's own club similar to Gamestops, but the magazine EB provides is GMR I think.

I know allot of people here like to bash EB, but I dig them and have never had a problem at their stores. I get some great deals there: lots of used (and complete) PSX titles for $3-$4, $5 Dex Drives, and cheap-used DVD's. Even picked up a complete Discworld for $10.

Once in a while, I'll deal with a clueless employe (once a worker there tried to tell me that Castlevania:SOTN is rare and it sells for so much because it was a "late release" title) but overall, the people there are nice and helpful.

Hahah, I love how people like to tell you games that made it to the greatest hits are rare. So wait, a game that sold over a million copies is rare? Got it.

I do the gamestop one, myself because (in some cases, unfortunatly) the EB near me is run by a complete and total ass. I used to go to the EBX in Boston often when I went to college there, they run a nice store overall. But MAN is that guy a jerk near my EB.

Ha! Yeah, that's exactly what I said when he told me that. Then he just mumbled something and walked away. I should have offered to sell him one of my 3 copies for less than the $35 they were asking for it.
