View Full Version : 3do,s wont read photo/picture cd,s.

hey all.
I have 4 units (2 fz-1,1 each of fz-10 @ goldstar).so here is the prolem, I recently got hold of the fz-1 inst.and it says the sys.can play photo cd,s.only when i try (all 4 systems)none of them will load the disc.
or even read it! any info would be great thanks ahead.

I think the 3DO might have required some type of photo cd adapter to be able to use photo CD's.

They might need to be put into Kodak's Photo CD format, you might not be able to throw a bunch of .jpgs onto a CD.

my bad.
should have noted that the disc is a kodak photo cd with easyshare.
also i looked in sys. manual to see if i needed an adapter or something like
some sys need,it doesnt say.

Check this article on Wikipedia about the Kodak Photo CD format:

Although most "photo cds" nowadays use JPG, it appears that the original format was a proprietary format, .PCD. My guess is that your 3DO's are looking for .PCD files, not .jpg. I can only imagine that the switch to photo labs giving CDs with JPG files was for ease of use.
