I was looking through my old Sega Genesis games and I found that my FIFA International Soccer box has a limited edition sticker on it:http://i929.photobucket.com/albums/ad134/mattimeo310/Games/IMG_0478.jpg

I reads "Limited Edition" around the sticker And right above the EA Sports part it says "1st Round."

My question is: does anyone have any information on why this is a limited edition? Is it just because it was bought during its initial release? Thanks in advance!

As odd as it sounds, all copies of the game, as was several EA Sports titles of that year, were labeled Limited Edition.

Well my copy of this doesn't have the Limited Edition thing on the cover. Odd.

From what I understand from portnoyd since only one year received the limited edition yours was probably made in a different year.

Yeah, that's why I'm confused. If this is the first FIFA on the Genny, which mine is - made in 1993, how could it be a different year? It looks identical to the limited edition cover but without the logo. It sounds to me like it was, indeed, "limited" and not "all" of them had the sticker.

Sorry, got my wires crossed on this one. There are indeed non-limited edition versions of games from that year, however they are not any harder to find or any more desirable to have. Pretty sure we've had this discussion here before too, but god only knows where the thread is.
