So I played Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare at my best friend's house and considering I'm not a fps fan I enjoyed it. I played a bit of online multiplayer and thought it was good as well, except for the few times a random person would be placed on my team and would rocket the ground as soon as an elimination match started. Or someone on my team in deathmatch would go around killing his own people.

I decide I might pick it up and then saw a review at Gamestop.com when searching to make sure it's the same game to not be fooled into picking up the GotY that it comes with no extra content and all the DLC was removed. I decided to Google it and it seems that after the first printing of the GotY that they started reprinting the regular CoD4 but is using the GotY label and packaging.

Activision blows.

I have the GotY Edition too. It definitely did not come w/ any DLC codes. Not sure any of them ever did. But it didn't say anything of the sort on the box either, so I don't feel ripped off--just disappointed I didn't look closer at the details when I bought it.

My GOTY came with the DLC code.

Kinda late with this but yeah, I actually bought this too thinking that it would have whatever dlc considering that World at War was out by that time. I got this before the first map pack for World at War came out. I just remember that I kept getting kicked out of matches that were in maps I didn't have and I thought there was a DLC card for the packs and it got ripped off from the package because the shrink wrap didn't have the Y fold. Did the same thing you did and looked it up online. Learned what you did and I pretty much just went through the single player campaign and spent any online time on WAW.

So how can one tell if they got a copy with the extra content?

That's a dick move on Activision's part, but can't say that I find it very surprising.

So you decided to play Hardcore mode off the bat eh. In normal Deathmatch you can't kill your own guys.

Ya I bought this game and was super pissed that it came with nothing. Especially because it was so old yet the price was still so high. I even emailed activision about it and they just said it was a temporary thing. However I did a lot of research and heard of a few people who got nothing but the label said the map pack was included. Never did buy the map packs anyway but god are they cheap bastards. :bullshit:
