I still want a power supply for my JVC X'eye.

Third party ones are OK.

Edit: Pending deal ATM. Don't send me a new offer just yet. Hold onto it while this sentence is in place.

That X'eye arrived and seems to work. I'm not comfortable with using a wrong power supply. It doesn't have to be official as long as it'll provide the correct rating.

Your best bet is to get a replacement from Radioshack. That's what I did with my CDX (which has the same specs as the Xeye)

I can check, and let you know afterward. Radioshack is pretty near by.

Ive got a Universal adaptor here i used to use with my cdx, that outputs the proper 9.5v 1.5A current you need.

that's what I've got. It's beige and says radio shack

I think a PSOne power supply works perfectly with a X Eye system.

Isn't the PS One AC Adapter 7.5V and 2A - doesn't work

The power supply for a Canon AD-150 will work as well.

Edit: Er, isn't that the opposite polarity?

Yeah you have to mod the plug, forgot to mention that.

Don't use PS1. Make sure you use something that has the correct Voltage and enough AMPs. What WILL work is not often good for the systems. It will eventually catch up to you if you don't. Radio Shack has the one that works perfect and supplies correctly. Just a friendly warning. I have a CDX and two X'Eyes and no official adapters, but I think a Genesis 2 adapter knocked out the daughter board on one of my X'Eyes.

It will "work" but isn't correct, you're 2v shy of where it should be.

Remember, around 9.5v and at least 1.5A, positive tip.

bump. No one? I'll pay good money, this is essential for the system.

Did you check radioshack?

Didn't look like they had one with the rating I need.

I have an official cdx power supply if you are interested.

If OP doesn't, I'll take it depending on price :)

Technically not correct. The input voltage will pass through a 7805 voltage regulator which is going to drop the voltage to the +5v the circuit expects. Typically you want at least 3 volts over your output voltage, so any PS with at least 8v output would work fine. The Xeye internals run on the output of the regulator, not that of the power supply.

I'd hop on that CDX power supply. That's what I ended up having to do. I think I got mine for $30 shipped. I use it on both my CDX and my X'Eye, whichever one is currently hooked up.

Yeah, I figured that. Except price has little bearing when people don't want to sell them.
