Finally got around to fixing my Model 1 Sega Cd. I didn't really think the F1 fuse was the problem since it didn't look blown or anything, but I replaced it anyway. Sure enough, still no powering on. Never did since I bought it. Any ideas on other problems it might have? I'm really hoping I won't have to buy another one right now :(.

Hmm well as long as your using the MK-1602 power adapter then it should power on. Did you try cleaning the contacts on the Genesis. It sends a signal to the Sega CD to power on through one of the contact pins if no cart is in the Genesis. Also when you replaced the fuse did you make sure the ribbon cable to the main board was connected properly?

Maybe it's a cracked solder joint where the adapter plugs into the unit.

It may be something as simple as the power adapter.
Try testing it on another Sega CD or Model 1 Geneisis
power adapter. As simple as that is, it may work.

I've seen issues with dirty contacts too. Try cleaning the connection between the Sega CD and the Sega Genesis. I suppose it could be an AC Adapter issue too, anything can happen. As far as the fuse is concerned, which instructions did you follow to do it with?
