After the revelation that something like 90% of the people who played Machinarium had pirated the game, Amanita Design has decided to have a "Pirate Amnesty" sale (http://machinarium.net/blog/2010/08/05/machinarium-pirate-amnesty/), where pirates can atone by buying the game for only $5 (normal price is $20). Whether you pirated the game, or if it's the first time you ever heard of it, I suggest you check it out. It's an excellent game, and well worth the $5. Buying it allows you to download versions for Windows, Macintosh and Linux, as well as the soundtrack for the game (in MP3 format). The sale ends August 12th.

If you've never heard of the game, check out the online demo (http://machinarium.net/demo/) and try it for yourself.

I really want to buy this game. I will probably end up buying it even though I am absolutely horrible at point and click adventure games.

I can never quite seem to figure out what the hell they want me to do.

**SLIGHT SPOILER ALERT***

Like in the demo, how was I supposed to know that a random piece of gold metal was supposed
to get put on the track to derail the thing coming down?

Cool game. I'd buy this for $5 because I've heard good things about it.

I hadn't heard of it before. $5? Why not.

I actually pirated it and loved it....and now I feel all guilty. I even pirated the soundtrack already. But hell...for $5 I'll gladly support it...it's a great game!

Thanks for the heads up Ze_ro!

After the revelation that something like 90% of the people who played Machinarium had pirated the gamePuzzling, given that this seems like the third time that they've practically given it away.

anybody who has played this, how long is the game?

i seriously suck at adventure games, but i am slowly getting better (i.e. I have a small basis for what I should do in a room, but can never quite seem to figure out the order)
