View Full Version : I need your crappy NES and SNES games in bulk. Even some sports titles!

I need to buy these games in bulk. I do not need every game from this list. If you have a ton of copies of one game on the list that would be great. I if you copies of 10 different games on this list that would be good also. I will pay $1.00 per game or $0.50 per sports title. I would like to get as many copies as possible! Probably up to 50 for the time being. Some of the games are worth more than this. But I still can use them. If you are willing to sell them for the prices listed that would be fine. But I would be just as happy with 50 copies of Teco NBA Basketball as I would 50 copies of zelda. Please don't send me PM's for one game unless you want to sell them cheaper then the prices listed. Thanks!

strange question, what is this for?

repros. Would be nice to get a bunch of sports titles. Would feel a lot better destroying those. As they wouldn't be missed and there plentiful.

So you need TSROM, TKROM and SNROM donors. What projects you looking to get done?

Good luck with the SNROMs, I've been slowly picking them up for when I get around to releasing Chuck Yeager.

Nice! Mark me down for a copy when it's to be released! :)

What games can one find these "SNROMs"?

Well, i've never done this before. I still need a eeprom burner. I will probably start with something the is the easiest. I can't fint any information on how to actually make a proto. But from the few pictures I found on this French website it doesn't look too hard. The first game I would really like to do would be Hamelin no Violin. No one seems to do this game. And it's a awesome game.

Also, if anyone knows a good place to buy a burner, that would be awesome. Cause I know nothing about buying one.

If you want to start easy, I would absolutely start with an NROM game. The ERPOMs are cheap and there is ZERO rewiring that needs to be done. Just program the chips, desolder the CHR and PRG, replace with EPROMs and presto! You've got yourself a repro.

Many people opt to go with a cheap Willem programmer, but you may as well spend a bit more and get something nice. I've had two and can recommend both.

First: http://cgi.ebay.com/True-USB-EPROM-chip-Burner-Programmer-BIOS-SPI-ICSP-/310229807944?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0

This one could handle any chip I needed to program for NES repros and it was very easy to use. Unfortunately, it couldn't read a couple bizarre proto EPROM chips I had, so I purchased a higher end programmer.

http://cgi.ebay.com/New-TOP3100-USB-universal-programmer-EPROM-MCU-PIC-AVR-/160447207869?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0

This is what I use now and it is fantastic. Can program 42 pin chips, can set to batch programming, can auto-detect chip types, and can basically do anything I could ever want it to do. Killer programmer, I really love it.

You'll also need an EPROM eraser. Again, you can get a cheap-o one, but you're better off spending the cash on something nicer.

Good luck, let me know if you need any help!

Tecmo Super Bowl is no crappy sports game.

Can't argue with that. I don't really play many sports titles, but Tecmo Super Bowl is pretty bad ass.

Does anyone know where a FAQ might be online that explains the different chips in NES and SNES games? Cause there all just numbers to me. And somewhere that will give me some information about how to go about reproducing games?

Basically all I care about is being able to make NES and SNES reproductions, and being able to update my Neo Geo MVS Unibios chip. Can you recommend a decent cheap starter programmer that will get this done? I can always upgrade to a nicer one if needed n the future.

The wall plug isnt needed for the chips you will be using.
Only thing you might want to do if you encounter some problems with the adapter, is to remove the 10uf capacitor on the adapter. It's no longer needed and could resolve some compability issues you could be having with certain chips.

Yeah, good luck- a lot of those games fetch way more than $1! Hell, if anybody's reading this, I'll give you DOUBLE his offer for King's Quest 5 and the Ultima games, because I would enjoy playing them on my NES. I already have Uninvited- that game should NEVER be used as a donor! It's too awesome. :p

I already explained that some of the games are worth more, and that I didn't care if I got those ones but would take them if you didn't need them. If you want King's Quest and ultima so bad, you could always post your OWN thread.

I don't think I quite understand what you're saying. People buy games all the time in the forums. I can burn them all if I wanted to. Destroying a Madden to make a Hamelin no Violin cart, or some other translation or homebrew cart isn't illegal. As no one is losing any profit from me making these games. And even if I was selling them (which I am not), it would still be legal. As they were never released in the states.

If I was trying to sell something like a conversion of E.V.O The Search for Eden, that would be a whole other story.

Have you ever made a reproduction before? You may want to give one (or a few for that matter) a shot before buying up a bunch of carts.

Hey I was kidding man, The less junk carts roaming around out there the better.

I am pretty confident I can do it. I'm a pretty smart guy. You kinda have to have 100% confidence, when not going into reproducing cartridges, but in everyhting in life. Otherwise you would fail in everything. Negative Nancy never got anyone anywhere in life.

Having made something like 400 reproduction carts myself, I can tell you with a good bit of confidence that you should really do some research first. Smart or not, you're hoping to buy titles that you may not be able to even use, and they're are numerous mappers represented. Beyond that you don't even have an EPROM programmer. Where's the fire dude? Start slow. Research mappers, look for a cheap EPROM distributor, ask for advice and guidance.

Look man, I wasn't trying to shit on you. I started out with no background and have done quite well. You don't see why making one or two before buying up lots makes sense?

Ditto.

I had already decided to buy a few pre burnt chips and practice before going and buying a eprom programmer. I already own copies of most of the games I need to make the carts I want. I realize that some of the games on the list I will probably never use to make a game. But they are all so cheap it is easier to buy them in bulk, and resell them or trash them if needed. Or even use them for their shells, or to practice on.
