Sega Saturn battery compartment repair

I've got a long-neglected old workhorse Saturn. Your basic US model 1, mfg date of April 1995 on its sticker. Still has solid A/V output even from RF. And it doesn't mind normal disc scratches at all.

Except for the battery compartment... Aside from its missing cover, the battery holder has been damaged. Jamming objects inside to hold it down is rather ugly, probably unreliable too. I'm not sure if the battery there is still good. But that wouldn't matter right now anyway.

What should I do? No idea where to get such parts. Assuming I'd be able to install them.

You can probably get a cr2032 battery holder that will work at radio shack and solder it in if you have the skills. Or, if you want a working Saturn board with a good battery holder, let me know. I have one kicking around that I was going to toss, but you can have it for the cost of shipping ;)

I *might* actually have a spare, but, you pretty much have to take the system completely apart to install it

Turns out I was lucky enough to happen upon another dirt cheap one of this model. Its battery is likely dead.

I'll sell whichever system I don't need once I've found a fresh battery to do further testing. I'm sure someone here wouldn't mind an easy fix up Saturn.

It's not that bad. A less than 1cm piece of the plastic broke out. Right in the center like a horseshoe or Pac-Man.

There is another option. If you or someone you know performs Saturn modding to run imports/backups, do tell me. It'd be little loss if it turns out unmoddable.

Thankt, at least. I suppose that's for another topic. For now I've got a replacement system that should at least save once its battery is changed.
