It's a bit beat up. It was nice and cheap though, $150 off of Craigslist. Trying to pick up a few games now, and start on restoring this a bit. I've not really done any restoration work, so feel free to chime in with advice etc. My first mission is to get the control panel off, (screws are stuck), hopefully some WD40 will do the trick.
Then I'm considering pulling as much of it apart as I can and having it powdercoated.
Anyways on to the pics

Ah, that's a beaut! I remember playing Arch Rivals on one of those machines at Pizza Hut when I was a kid. I'm very excited to see how this restoration goes. Congratulations on the pickup!

Thanks man, I already found the plexi to hold the flyers by the monitor (ready to put some VS. Castlevania flyers in there). Working on cleaning up the sticks and buttons right now.

Nice find! A little rough on the edges but still in looks like it's in pretty good condition.

There was a local diner in town that had one of those a few years ago.. SMB and Ice Climbers. I burned quite a few quarters on it, but then the restaurant closed down, tragically. (Not content merely closing it down, they even bulldozed the little place. Leaving a conspiciously empty lot to drive by every day..)
Anyway, this is the first time I'd heard of one of those ever since(and the first time I'd heard of a 'vs NES' or 'Red Tent', so I'm surprised they were a common thing and had a variety of games to use.
Sah, had I known the restaurant was going to close down, I would have contacted the owners to see what they were gonna do with that thing.. Now I kind of want one.

Finding this one was pure luck for me, and like you remember it from a pizza place when I was a kid. Now that I'm looking for stuff for it, parts games etc., I'm realizing they aren't so common. Finding stuff for it is looking like it's going to be semi difficult.
Making progress though, I have the plexi that goes next to the monitor to hold flyers coming to me right now, and some buttons (not original colors but they'll work), and a few games.
I'm really excited for some of the games, Baseball is what's in mine and I'm not a huge fan of it. I've got Super Mario Bros. & Castlevania on the way though :) I hear Mario is waaaaaaay different from the NES counterpart, and Castlevania is the same basically but much more difficult.

Heh, even I remember enough of the VS SMB to say it was indeed fairly different.. It was harder for me, but I'm not sure if that was because it was genuinely more difficult or just because I was unfamiliar with it, though.
By the way, what did you mean in the opening post about having it powder coated? I'm not familiar with that terminology.

Got Castlevania today and it's awesome ;) Kicking my ace right now but it's great fun.
In layman's terms, Powder Coating is basically having it repainted. They'll sandblast the metal pieces and then 'powder coat' it with whatever color you choice. It actually bonds to the metal from what I understand, I'm no pro, so I'm not good at explaining it. There's a few shops in my city that'll do it with other stuff they are working on, so usually it's not too expensive. I had the control panel from my 4-slot Neo done and it cost like $20.

It's a dry powder without a solvent (Which is why it isn't liquid like paint) that is baked after being applied so it melts and bonds to the metal surface.
Creates a nice durable finish compared to conventional paint.

I always thought the red tents were weird... the only time I've ever seen one was at a pizza hut in Nashville years ago.
Do you have a cabinet for those CP2 boards?

Nope, but there is a guy a few miles from me who owns a Quick e Mart type store who told me he has an original dedicated Street Fighter Alpha 3. I have a feeling it's either not true or it's beat to hell.

Now who in their right mind would spend $180 on a DSi XL or another heavy amount for PS3/360 when you can have a Red Tent? (Provided you have room, of course). As soon as I get out of this condo, I will be buying an arcade machine. Wow, that's a great deal.

That was, in all likelyhood, the Brentwood Pizza Hut!!
One side was RBI Baseball for years, they changed the other game quite often, though...
They eventually got rid of it for Toki. :(
