I know it's not only me, there were at least 1-2 others that collect(ed) 360 games on here. Just seeing if anyone else is nuts enough to do this. I am really enjoying this, it opens up a whole bunch of other games and such to me that I probably wouldn't have played otherwise. I'm finding some of the collectors edition games are actually becoming not too easy to find(without going on ebay and the like). Anyone else doing this?

I need to play catch-up, but I am in the process of collecting every game released by Sega on 360. I am up to 14 or 15 right now out of right around 20.

I've been picking up the bargain games non-stop now. I'm thinking about going for a complete U.S. fullset myself.

I'm picking up games dirt cheap, or at decent prices if it is something I want. I'm currently at over 250 games.

I am currently at 143 (counting XBLA games).

I count them because I paid for them.

If my backlog was not so massive, I would probably have a much bigger gamerscore, hehehe

Wow! That's impressive.

I think I'm only at 75 or so, still looks cool on the shelf. I'm about midway on my original xbox collection (around 350)

I'm not sure why you think anyone would think this is strange. Lots of us collect 360, PS3, Wii, DS and PSP. There are tons of excellent 360 games that hit the $20 price point or less within six months of release. I don't think there is the same sense of urgency in collecting 360 games as I have yet to find any rare US 360 games and I feel fairly confident that collecting a full set will be easy for many years to come after the 360 is discontinued. Sure, if you're trying to pick up all the variants and collector's editions, it will be more expensive, but still everything is relatively easy to find when compared to other slighty older consoles.

He still is, he's just not buying everything at release. It's a bit tooo expensive that way.

I'm around 130 physical and 70 XBLA, 360 collecting is pretty fun- much like PS2 collection- the thing is though, unlike PS2 games, there aren't many 'hidden' gems like, say, Flipnic or Bombastic on PS2. Anything good- even if it's not a blockbuster- gets plugged to hell on XBL or Major Nelson or something like that. Dunno if that makes any sense to anyone but I miss the days when you could find something really obscure, play if with a few mates and feel like you've discovered the Holy Grail or something.

I have never really "collected" 360 games for the sake of collecting them but by buying them cheap I have gotten to around 50 retail games and about 10 XBLA games. I've only purchased two games at full retail but the majority were bought for $10-20. I even have a nice handful of games that were bought for $5. By the time it's all said and done I'm sure I'll have atleast 100 retail 360 games.

i have 81 360 games not including xbla. ive been more focused on the original xbox at the moment(have 211 games), and its getting tough to find anything but sport games ever since gamestop stoped buying xbox. there is realy only one independent game store near me and i never bought online.

I collect. It's my favorite system even surpassing my much loved NES. I'm currently sitting at just over 250. I'm trying to cut back a little but I'm also hoping to pick up the CE of Mass Effect tomorrow so it's not going well lol.

I'll collect for it in 10-15 years when it's a retro console. ;)

Thats pretty impressive considering that you just got your 360 earlier this year but it's also kind of scary to think of how much you might have paid for those games. Well, it would be scary if I didn't know where you work. Because of your store(Sears) I have gotton several 360, PS3 and Wii games for $5 or less, including Bulletwitch, Tenchu Z, Burnout: Revenge, Stranglehold, TNA: Impact and atleast another ten titles. Along with Target, your store has some of the best video game deals around--and thats before you even add in your employee discount.

I don't, collecting modern games is pointless because they will only go down in value. I do have a few 360 games that I play though, but wouldn't call it a collection.

Anymore, I don't find hardly any good clearance deals....SHARE THE WEALTH. lol. I do pick up games for cheap used at a few local stores though. Every little bit helps the collection grow!

I haven't bought an Xbox360 console because I'm still not confident about it's reliablity yet. But I do have aproximately 200 games in my Xbox360 library, with a few of those being imports. Some of the downloadable games on XBLA look interesting, but I'm just not interested in paying for something without a phsyical copy. When they put them on a disc, like with Qubed, I have no problem with paying for that.
As far as 'hidden' gems, I think the Wii library will probably end up with the bulk of those. Games just seem to come out of nowhere for the Wii.

If value is your only criteria, you are wasting your time collecting in general. You'd be much better off putting your time and money into something that appreciates faster and more consistently.

I've thought about this, I currently have 28 physical games and 31 XBLA games. There is definitely some good stuff on the system, and now with some of the older titles becoming affordable, and even some newer stuff that didn't sell well, there are some decent games to be found.

That's not necessarily true, games like The Force Unleashed: Ultimate Sith Edition and the collector's edition of Tales of Vesperia have gone up in price since their respective releases.

Hopefully there will still be one that works in 10-15 years ;)

No offense but that's a dumb statement. Today's modern is tomorrow's classic...

Also, the collector's edition of Mass Effect is worth a good chunk of change.

I'm definitely not collecting for it, but it's a fun system to buy games for. There's enough activity locally on kijiji/craigslist that you can really piece together something nice on the cheap without ever having to look through the bins at EB or Best Buy. I have almost every RPG for the system and I bought them all used that way, never for more than $10-15. Other than FFXIII I've yet to buy a game at launch, and yeah, compared to the PS3 the prices drop so fast you can still get recent titles on the cheap if you wait just a few weeks or a month.

I'm sort of of the same mindset as darkslime - considering how the prices always drop, and in the 360's case much faster than other consoles, it is sort of a waste of money to jump on every new release instead of just waiting for the price to go down to supply and demand levels. Think of how much you'd save if you bought all the EA Sports games a year behind compared to the ones that are released now. Other than online play, you'd not be missing anything, and could get all the games at $5-10 a pop. I doubt any of us are starving for new games, given the retro backlogs we probably all have sitting in our basements, so waiting it out playing through your catalog is definitely the most economically feasible way to go about it. Wonder how many 360 games we'll end up with by the end of its run...

Just passed 255 with the pick up of Mass Effect LE today. I was able to get it for $40 so I'm pretty happy to have that one off my list.

Just updated my list, still probably have some work to do on it, so it's a little bit rough. Looking like 274 games give or take. Not bad.

I should really count mine and get an official total but I can only assume I'm at around 150 as I have two paper boxes of unopened games in my closet as I work on some of the ones I have sitting on the shelf half-finished when I get distracted by a new purchase.

I love the 360 and have about 120 retail games for it. Not sure how many XBLA games, but it's quite a few. I've really gotten into the XBL Game Room and am really enjoying playing the retro arcade stuff, but I have a question. Games like Asteroids and Tempest need a better controller to make them more realistic - I think I have one of those old XBL Arcade controllers that came out a while back that might have a spinner on it for Tempest. Is there a good button layout stick for Asteroids and other vintage arcade games? What do you guys use?

It doesn't look like there is any outer box or separate SKU though. It's just the regular edition of the game packaged with a tiny poker set, a paper map and a chance to win a statue. Certainly not worth the extra $50 over just the game when you factor in tax and shipping.

I want to know how many of the High Stakes version of Dead Rising 2 will be available. Anything more than 1,000 wouldn't be worth taking a chance at the rare golden ticket. Now if there were only 50 then I'd be all over it.

I sort of want to buy it, but I really don't understand why they didn't just throw in all of the stuff PLUS the collectors edition like the Call Of Duty Prestige Editions do. If they had done that, it'd be a no brainer. The way they did this though, I am eventually going to want to end up with both.

I collect for this system but haven't made a list or anything for it yet to go deep into collecting, but I know I have around 330-340 XBOX 360 Games right now...in contrast to something like Wii (500 games) or Nintendo DS (900+ games) I've concentrated a bit more on those...

I wouldn't say I actively collect for any modern system. It's just too expensive. But 360 is my current-gen system of choice and I do buy a lot of games for it, mainly 'cuz I'm a bit of an achievement whore.

I have 75 retail games and 37 XBLA games.
