Do any of you play it? How about we all set the team name to DigitalPress? ;-)
I just got a used copy of the game today, and it seems good so far. The analog steering seems a bit touchy, but the first 2 races were still a breeze. They seem to have designed the AI so it's not infallible like in the Gran Turismo series.

I was looking forward to this title, and it's release came and went without so much as a sneeze. My funds being what they are right now I can't afford to go buy it, so I'm interested in any opinions people may have of the game.

It seems like the game lies halfway between the complexity of Gran Turismo and a more traditional arcade racer. It looks like there's quite a bit of customization available, but you don't have to actually buy stuff. So you won't be running the Super Speedway over and over trying to get prize money and cash cars.
One of the reviews on GameFAQs was entitled "Initial D meets Gran Turismo 3," and I think that about sums it up.

Waiting for the Xbox version this October. Hopefully they'll tweak the critically maligned controls, plus it'll have Live support and voice chat.

I hated Auto Modelista. Maybe Im too used to the controls in GranTurismo, but AM felt way too sloppy. Also, this game has the single most complex menu navigation of any game I've ever played. Sub-menus upon layers of sub-menus got me lost in the "garage" section of the game and would take several minuets to find my way out of and to start racing.
On-line racing was a joke. I would get lapped before I was even 1/4 of the way around the track. Seriously.
