Hot Newz 64 video

Hey everyone,

I recently picked up a Hot Newz 64 VHS tape, that appears to be promoting Dk64 and Jet Force Gemini (I haven't watched it yet). Included with the video and the case are two inserts, one says "It's a RARE offer" promotes a subscription to Nintendo Power, whereas the other is a little information card, that just lists the release date for DK64 and Jet Force.

I bought this at a library book sale, since it was game related and a bit interesting, though after I watch it, I'll probably want to sell it before I move this December. Anyone know of the value for this? I am guessing that it isn't worth much, but who knows.

I remember getting one of these in the mail a long time ago. I can't remember if it was through a Toys "R" Us mailing list promotion or an extra from my Nintendo Power Subscription.

They are worth next to nothing. We had an extra and we had problems giving it away.

Yeah there's a bunch of various N64 "promo" VHS tapes and they all sell horribly. Probably not worth much more than the cost of shipping.

Okay thanks for the information. When I'm done with it, I'll probably pass it on to my brother if he wants it then.

The only times I've seen the N64 and Snes vhs tapes actually sell for more than $2 is when they were put in lots and even then they don't sell for much more than that.

I got my copy at a thrift for a buck. As everyone else has said, not worth much.

Btw, it's pretty awful (http://www.platypuscomix.net/interactive/nvideos4.html), even by N64 promo tape standards.

I dunno, I don't think anything could top the awesomeness/badness of the StarFox 64 promo tape.
