A few years ago as the Micros were starting to be phased out by retailers I went to a department store and noticed that the Black micros (gray box front) were marked 16.99 or something of the sort. The silver micros next to them were marked 60 dollars or so. I bought four of the black ones with the intention of selling them and they are still sealed. How much do you think these would go for? I checked ebay and there's only one other copy of it for 170 buy it now. I'm wondering if it was logical to assume i could sell them for 60 each?

You could easily sell at 60 each, but you could probably get more for them

Probably $100, but not $170.

I don't think these will bring $100, but $60 sounds about right. There was a guy on Nintendoage not too long ago that had several of them and I think he was having trouble moving them at $65 each. They are worth more than you paid, but they aren't exactly in demand among Nintendo collectors and generally aren't considered very good systems.

On collector forums, no, you won't get $100. Put it on Amazon or Ebay. Also, I think I disparaged the Micro in another topic on here and got quite a few responses of the "I f'in love my Micro, man!" variety. So I wouldn't say they aren't generally considered a very good system.

On a forum, you should expect around $60 each. At eBay, closer to $80-$90. Small box vs. big box doesn't seem to make much of a difference.
Btw, the 20th Anniversary Game Boy Micros seem to go for ridiculous amounts factory-sealed (even as high as $150+)...thankfully, my parents bought me one for Christmas back in '06, on the conditions that I'd never resell it (unless I absolutely had to) and I'd never open it :D .

I was a micro hater until I picked one up on clearance. The screen is crisp and looks great, maybe a little small for RPGs but the portability factor makes up for that. I would say around $75 would be right for a sealed system.
The nintendo online store used to sell the various covers (screens) for like $2, I ordered a Anniversary cover and threw it on my silver system and it looks sweet.

I recently sold one of these for $84 on eBay. The completed transaction:

I had this listed on the forums (Assembler/DP) for $79 and it did not move at all, nor did I have any offers. The $60 estimate bojay1997 listed might be a bit low IMHO for the forums, but then again, mine did not sell I had I had a standing OBO on it.
The demand does not seem to be that high presently for them (NIB). I had a few offers on eBay, until it sold for the listed price. It might be best if you hang on to them for a while and see what you can do around the holidays.
Hope this helps.

I recently sold a MIB GB Micro for $60, so I'd say that $75 is a good number to shoot for in selling a new one.

People simply haven't figured out how great they are yet. Demand will continually creep up and, if us Micro lovers are not just huffing glue (I will grant, it is possible we're just odd, but they are the most conveniently designed handheld system), eventually boom when the supply dries up before demand is met.
I kick myself every time I think of how many new cheap units I passed up... I thought they were crap too back then.
