Ok, found an Atari in a used store.
Bought it for $5 because the guy said it was not working.

Came home, plugged it in and yes.. it was working o/

But the rest switch wasn't. Bought another one, soldered it, everything went ok for almost a week!

Well, 2 days I left him plugged to the wall but turned off.

The font is dead now so I tried with an universal one, 9V set with - to +.

It power ups for a second. It even shows the image in the tv for a second, them he behaves like the other one. Game is in there and just a black screen.

I think it's some electrical damage. So is there any resistor I can change ?

I always thought the 2600 was a 7.5v system, but maybe that's just me...

EDIT - Sorry, just tested it, and apparently i'm wrong! maybe that's why i have funky colors all the time :P

I'm not really sure what you mean, but here's the specs for the power supply.

Input: 120VAC 60Hz
Output: 9VDC 500mA
Polarity: Center +, Outer -

I remember our first atari had the wall wart burn up, and we had to buy a new one after we left it plugged in. My guess is that a) the first one died and then your polarity is set wrong on the multi unit.

From what I've herd and seen on this board, you're not supposed to keep the Atari 2600 plugged in,even if it's turned off. It's due to the board itself sucking "vampire power" even when the system is off.
