Is there any good FPS games on the DS out there? If so, which ones should I get?

Metroid Prime Hunters and Moon are quite good.

How do those play? I like FPS games, but every one I've played on the ds so far has been trying to emulate the controls of a dual-analog console controller. (Hint: looking around with the stylus works fine for Myst, not so much for call of duty)

Yes, both use stylus to look around and the cross to move.

There's also Dementium: The Ward and its sequel. I haven't played Moon but it's developed by the same company as the Dementium titles. "Ward" was pretty good but felt a bit "cheap" to me. It's saving is a pain where you have to start at the beginning of the chapter rather than where you left off. I think the developers released an updated version of the game with "modern" saving. Those games are more like "Silent Hill" meets "Doom" because there are puzzle/adventure elements.

Also check out C.O.R.E.
I have never played it but judging by the cover it sorta looks like a fallout 3 type game. But remember it's on the DS.
I picked up Moon a year ago or so and only played it for a few hours, it looks rather nice considering the DS isn't known for it's FPS games. It has a nice mixture of shooting, exploration and puzzles, it's really worth checking out.

I played Moon all the way through. It was fun, a little basic and repetitive but worth the time for an FPS fan. But man, did the control scheme hurt my hand after a while. That was the biggest drawback for me.

There's always the GBA FPS games to consider. Doom on the GBA is awesome.
