So I'm considering picking up the CE and CE guide for Alan Wake. I've always been a big fan of survival horror games. I can pick up both for about $75. Is the game worth it? If so, is it worth the extra $$ for the CE editions? I can pick up a used HB guide for $10, but it doesn't have any of the other things with it.

A buddy of mine got this for me for my Birthday and I enjoyed the hell out of it, one of the few games that I've beaten within 2 sittings. The game is hit or miss for some people tho, since some complain that the gameplay gets repetitive and that the story is overly confusing, but I didn't have a problem with it at all.

The CE is quite nice, one of the better CEs that's been released.

I agree. I bought the CE the day it was released and I don't regret it at all. I've been considering getting the CE Guide as well, since it's price has dropped on Amazon.

I seriously LOVED this game.

I plan on replaying the game to obtain the missing achievements and just experiencing it all over again. It had a great feeling while playing, and I really enjoyed the characters.

Barry still cracks me up. Him and his stupid cutout of Alan. LOL

I got the LE/CE version, and I really want to read the novel, but I don't want to actually open the book. I hope to find a PDF version of it so I can read instead.

Oh, and I want the next DLC to be released! And I hope it's not the last...

Thanks for the feedback! I actually won an Ebay auction today for both the CE Guide and Game for $41.00 :) Everything looks perfect. I'm excited to play it!

Hmmm....I read mine and it had no impact on the condition. It IS a hardback...pretty damned durable...

Alan Wake has been one of the best games I've played this year and so far there hasn't been a better CE released this year. I have also heard many complain about certain story elements or control gripes but overall it was a very compelling experience. You will probably enjoy it alot.
