Does a 360 have better ventilation and less heat build up lying horizontally or vertically? I have heard some people say horizontally while others say vertically, what is the truth?

Also, when the 360 is in the horizontal position, does it need to be raised up with something to allow space for the two vents on the bottom, or is it okay to just put it directly on a flat surface? I noticed the bottom is concave except where the two vents are. Does this provide enough air flow for these vents?

I want to give the system the most ventilation it can get. Which vents on the system move the most air, the ones in the back with the fans, the ones on the top and bottom, or the big vent on the end (on the right side when placed horizontally).

how many threads are you going to make on this subject?

Also, it'd make more sense to post it in the Tech/Restoration subforum

XBOX 360s get best ventilation when placed in your ass. Excessive farting is the trick to it.

I'd put it horizontally, on shag carpet, right next to the baseboard

If you want advice, just go buy one.

You have made enough threads interested in the 360.

Just go buy one and find out like everybody else did.

This is not an atomic bomb you are dealing with, it is just a 360. You can find them easily for $150 now, so there is no need to act like it will be the end of the world if it messes up.

If you're worried about overheating that badly, go buy a Super Nintendo. You can put that bad boy in a down coat on top of a heating vent and you'll still be good to go.
