So far, I've bought a number of things on Ebay, but I haven't ventured into selling anything yet.

Was is the skinny on selling stuff on Ebay?

1) Know what you are selling

2) Good Pics

3) Don't try to screw people on shipping.

Having good pictures is a big thing.

Also knowing how much it will cost to ship the item AND packaging the item well.

Nothing worse than having a seller ship a jewel case game in a manilla envelope and when you gat the NEW game the case is all cracked.

Also if you want to ship priority, go to the post office and get some priority mail boxes.

its always good to state the shipping price in the auction (or at least a close estimate) so you don't get any buyers that are expecting a low shipping cost and then don't want to pay for the item once they find out the real shipping cost.

Only do it unless you absolutely need to. A fucking chore if I've ever seen one.
