well, i bought my psp a couple years ago in order to avoid conflict with my college roommate.
it's served me well, but now i'm running out of games to play.
i need something new, currently i have Crisis Core, Dissidia, and Every Extend Extra, but i had others, including metal slug XX, Castlevania Dracula X, and both of the Star Ocean games.
so, i was thinking of checking out the Lunar remake, the persona remake, and the Ys games.
any opinions on those?
other games i should check out?
also, i'm kind of a sucker for limited editions, any for the psp?

Great system with a lot of good games that you can actually find for very cheap now days. Here are some of the best.
Wild ARMs XF
Gundam Battle Universe
Dracula X Chronicles
Star Ocean Second Evolution
Star Ocean First Departure
Star Wars Battlefront Renegade Squadron
Space Invaders Extreme
Mega Man Powered Up
Mega Man Maverick Hunter X
Half Minute Hero
Jeanne D'arc
Brave Story
Pursuit Force Extreme Justice
Wipeout Pulse
Crimson Gem Saga
Prinny Can I Really Be the Hero
Advanced Wa...I mean.. Field Commander
Ys3(comes out in a couple months.)
Ys 1 and 2(comes out half a year.)
I've yet to play Ys7 but I've heard good things and it's Ys. I just don't want to open the game right now. I'm going to wait until I find another copy for cheap.
Here's the thread for others. I'll probably post what games I like in there sometime later.

I have had alot of fun with Gran Turismo. I almost didn't buy it after mixed reviews but it dropped to $20 pretty quickly. At first I dismissed the game because it didn't feature full tuning like a console GT. However, after playing for awhile I didnt miss it -- it allowed me to spend the extra credits on obtaining more vehicles!
If you do go for the Lunar remake, there is a Limited Edition with a soundtrack and some other goodies. The remixed music is mostly really good, so I'd say it is worth it. I dunno about your area, but I can still occasionally find the LE in stores. The graphical makeover is amazing.
Just beware BEWARE! Nall's voice.. :beaten:

Finished Ys 7 last night, Falcom did a great job. If you're gung ho for special editions, then get this one got the works! i.e. Soundtrack, Artbook, and a big ol' nice shiny cloth map :D.
Ys: Ark of Napisthim is another good choice though no LE but if you gonna play Ys 7, then play 6 too.
As for other PSP boxed sets, there's Lunar: Silver Star Harmony, Minama Iyar Chronicles, Persona Remake, and Prinny.
Dissidia also had a special boxed set but that's only in the UK. Over here, it was bundled with the PSP. Some to consider if you're looking for a replacement.

Or depending on your firmware you could downgrade your PSP to play all emulators as well as a lot of good homebrew and applications.

I enjoyed the Lunar games and Wild Arms on the Playstation (assuming it's the same or based off the PS version), so I'd say go for it and chances are, you won't be disappointed.

The persona games are good. 3 is basically the same as the PS2 version minus the free roaming. The character interactions are a bit different too, but it's a solid game. What about MGS Peace Walker?

Kupo's list is pretty complete, and I think "Half Minute Hero" is enough of a game to merit buying the system.
The only game I have that hasn't been mentioned is the Gradius Collection. Alas, no Gradius V, but the rest of the series (and Gradius Gaiden) are all there.

Some great games I forgot about. I don't get why the PSP is tanking so much? It's got a terrific library of games, most of which are dirt cheap now, and the core system is only $170. Oh well, I've always enjoyed mine!

If you like fighters, I'd recommend Power Stone Collections and Street Fighter Alpha 3 MAX.

Damn! I'm pretty new to the PSP scene and just updated my PSP 3000 system from 6.20 to 6.31 A week or two ago.
As far as I knew it was just the PSP 1000 and 2000 models that could run homebrew! Oh well... Hopefully they will find a way to run homebrew on the 6.31 firmware and then I can try it out on my 3000.

Out of all my handhelds, my PSP gets the most use. It's a 2000 model and a buddy of mine performed the battery hack on it. I've got an 8gb memory card onboard and have loaded it up with classic console emulators. They work and look great!
I also buy PSP games too as there are a ton of great titles out there. Overall, it's a great investment!

I'd avoid Ys: Ark of Napishtim on the PSP if I were you. It is riddled with slowdown in the larger areas and features very long load times. Besides, you said you had the PS2 version, which plays fine.
And I second Gradius Collection. Excellent compilation, worth it for Gradius Gaiden alone.

A friend of mine got a PSP for around $20. Modded the thing so he could use it as a cheap MP3 player.

Valkyria Chronicles next week for the PSP.
I'm excited for it since I don't have a PS3 and would like to give the series a shot.
