Best mods for a quiet Xbox1

Hi All,

I recently started playing a few of my favourite old Xbox games, starting with KOTR (such an amazing game!), however the noise that the Xbox is producing is _really_ starting to annoy me. Constant whining fan noise, plus super loud dvd drive seeking and hard disk ticking. I don't remember this bothering me 'back in the day, so I am not sure If it has got noisier over time, or just my tolerances have lowered as I have got older :)

I am wondering if anyone has done some mods to make their Xbox quieter, and has some advice on what the best mods to do are?

Not sure about mods that will adjust the fan speed during gameplay, but I'm sure a good cleaning would quiet it down. I'd start there.

If you're into doing things real drastically, such as cutting up the case, you could install new, larger, and quieter fans. I have also heard of people replacing the hard drive with a flash memory drive. As far as the DVD drive goes, you're probably stuck with what you have. You may be able to put some kind of cushioned standoff on the mounting screws to keep the vibration from transferring into the rest of the xbox.
