Is it possible to make is so when I tap down on a button on the PS2 controller it registers as me pushing it down 100%?

I'm pretty sure I should of named the tittle of the thread removing dualshock from a PS2 controller but it seems that dualshock is associated with more then just the pressure sensitive buttons?

Forgive my igorance, but cant you substitute your PS2 controller with a PS1 controller?

I thought PS1 controllers did not feature pressure sensitivity.

I don't think they do either. It's just that many games actually go so far as to check the controller version and only allow PS2 ones, despite having no known use of any Dualshock2-specific features.

Yup. Games like Kingdom Hearts will only let you use a Dualshock2 controller even though it uses all of the same functions as a Dualshock1. Pretty stupid stuff.

I use Nyco Type 2 controller, great huge controller. The buttons for me were not sensitive enough. Took apart and scraped a little of the resistance carbon coating off the PCB.

Now I don't have to mash the buttons as hard.
May work to give you that 100% with a light touch.

I have actually done this to a standard PS2 DUALSHOCK. While there was an improvement in the sensitivity and responsiveness, it is no where as sharp as a fresh PS1 DUALSHOCK. You could possibly replace that plastic sheet with the 11 carbon spots for an entire sheet of aluminum foil (or cut and paste buttons), but I don't know. You can get fresh PS1 controllers in-box from ebay.
