I decided to hook up my Colecovision today after a couple of years, and it powers on fine, and I can hear the game's audio just great. The only problem is that there is no video.

Just curious what I would need to do to fix it.

Insides:

Maybe the switch is on Channel 4 or between Channel 3 and 4,usually you can hear the audio on the other channel. Also if it's connected to a newer TV with a ATSC tuner, you can also sometimes hear the audio but no video, switch it to NTSC or hook it up to a VCR with a built in tuner. Hopefully your not using the old switch box, those go out all the time. If so,ditch the switch box and connect it using a direct 'F' Adapter.

I'm already using a 'F' adapter, and it's to a really old TV and still the same results (tried channel 2 and 3).

Hmm,the old TV should be able to pick up a low VLF channel, but it is getting audio. Have you tried it on a newer TV or VCR? Sounds like a capacitor problem or a loose solder joint.

You could always modify it for a better video signal such as Composite/S-Video or even Component, yea go figure a system from the 80's in component video. Too bad I can't find the damn component video mod,but Old School Gamer does Composite/S-Video mods. http://www.oldschoolgamer.ca/node/120

It seems the RF modulators go out on the Coleco's over time, not to mention Colecovision is the second worst to RF interference, the Adam computer I hear is the top dog on that.

I'll probably be sending it to someone to fix and to add a composite mod when I get back in finianical shape.
