That was really interesting, I never realized the symbols were designed with specific commands in mind though it does make sense.

Very cool, both for the insight to the inner workings of Sony at the time and for the symbolism. The whole circle and X part seems like a no-brainer to me (which makes it all the more confusing why they swapped their functions in the US), but I never thought of what the square and triangle could represent. I never really thought about the colors, but, yeah, it does seem a little odd that red would be the confirm color rather than the color for rejection.
