I thought that I would find a thread about this but after searching for like three days the most relevant threads were these ones:

http://www.digitpress.com/forum/showthread.php?p=1562963
http://www.digitpress.com/forum/showthread.php?t=87515
http://www.digitpress.com/forum/showthread.php?t=71365

The last one seems like it meant to go in the same direction but he's asking about arcade games only.

Well I thought I read you wanted modern games...but GC Rebel Strike had all 3 SW arcade games on it.

& IIRC all vers. of Pitfall Mayan Adv had classic Pitfall.

You'll get lots of responses now, asking for older games.

DP describes the modern gaming forum as "From PlayStation 2 to present!" so GC games are alright. \\^_^/

Kind of cool seeing a list of it.

Smash Bros. Brawl - Bonus rounds(?) based on several games *ty Swamperon*

Swamperon meant that there are full games of various first party NES and SNES games except as timed demos.

Pitfall - 2600 Pitfall *ty pkupstixx*

After seeing this I remember playing the PC version of Pitfall the Mayan Adventure(same game as the Genesis version.) That also has Pitfall for the Atari 2600.

It is actually. Including 2 that were only released in Japan.

Didn't the n64 donkey kong country have some retro games too?

Donkey Kong 64 had the arcade version of Donkey Kong and Jetpac, an old computer game by Rare.

As for my own contribution, Pac-Man 2: The New Adventures had Ms. Pac-Man unlockable on the SNES version only.

And, well, Chibi Robo for GCN had a tamagotchi in it, does that count?

Deadman
08-28-2010, 09:45 PM
Pac-Man World (PSX) - had Pac-Man classic included
Centipede (PSX and Dreamcast) - has classic Centipede in it
Ms. Pac Man Maze Madness (Dreamcast) - has classic Ms. Pac included

I thought that either Frogger or Frogger 2 for the PSX has original Frogger as hidden unlockable but can't remember which one.

Space Invaders (PSX) has original Space Invaders in it

Others that I've heard but can't confirm:
Tempest X (PSX) - original Tempest
Robotron 64 (N64) - original Robotron
Galaga 90 - orig. Galaga
Again, no confirmation just remember friends back in the day talking about it.

More then just the collectors edition of Doom 3 had the classic content available on the Xbox. The expansion pack, Doom 3: Resurrection of Evil, also had classic content available (Doom, Doom II, and Master Levels for Doom II) when it was released on the Xbox.

The Xbox version of Sands of Time has Prince of Persia 1 & 2, not just Prince of Persia 1. The PS2 and GCN versions just have the original Prince of Persia.

Also, the unlockable version of Pitfall on the Mayan Adventure is present in all versions of the game, so it should be listed as multiplatform.

You also don't have Die Hard Arcade listed for the Sega Saturn. It includes a unlockable version of Deep Scan, a Sega/Gremlin arcade title from 1979 and the only reason I have it in my collection.

The Xbox 360 version of Quake IV includes Quake II on a bonus disc.

You're also missing many classic compilations that included unlockable content, such as most Sega compilations, many Namco Museum releases, Atari Anthology (A Combat hack and a Tempest 2600 proto), and others. Something like the SMS version of Phantasy Star on Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection that is locked is generally thought of as a bonus retro game, even though the main content of the game itself is also all retro games.

I believe the Pinball Hall of Fame games have some games that are locked initially until certain goals are met.

Also, the Game & Watch compilations typically have some locked games (Zelda on one of them comes to mind).

The port of Xevious 3D/G+ on the PSOne included Xevious, Super Xevious and Xevious Arrangement.

There are many others, but without seeing list of my collection to read over to jog my memory (They're not on the PC I'm typing this from), I just tossed in those that I could add something to that were otherwise already listed, and the few I could recall.

Didn't the n64 donkey kong country have some retro games too?

Yes, Donkey Kong 64 included Jetpac and a port of the original Donkey Kong.

Only other release is on the 2600. Couldn't wait, so Action Replay provided instant gratification.

WarioWare Mega Microgames (GBA) - Has Dr. Mario (well Dr. Wario) and Sheriff I believe...

But I didn't want to post unless I could come up with two that no one had mentioned. It took a few minutes, but I finally got:

Electrocop for the Lynx - Has hidden asteroids and breakout games in the game's computers.

Yes!

Tekken 5 on PS2 included the arcade versions of Tekken 1, 2, and 3.

Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks on PS2 and X-Box included the arcade version of Mortal Kombat 2 as an unlockable.

Final Fight: Streetwise on PS2 and XBox included the arcade version of Final Fight.

Legend of the Mystical Ninja for Super NES features the first level of Gradius as a minigame.

And a slight correction:

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: Battle Nexus for Gamecube and PS2 features the original TMNT arcade game as an unlockable.

TMNT: Turtles In Time arcade version is unlockable in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3: Mutant Nightmare for PS2 and Gamecube.

I'm pretty sure it's still "Congo Bongo" in the US version. "Tip Top" is the European title of the game.

I don't remember, I just grabbed the bonus game list off Wikipedia and didn't put the game in to confirm it beforehand.

You'd be right about Excitebike 64.

I briefly considered listing Project Gotham Racing 2 (Where Geometry Wars first appeared), PGR3 (Geometry Wars and a demo of Retro Evolved), PGR4 (Geometry Wars: Waves), and standalone versions of the series that included earlier versions of the game (Retro Evolved contained the original, and Galaxies included Retro Evolved).

But I decided not to list them in a earlier post. Even though they're heavily inspired by classic arcade titles, they're still modern games.
