Does anyone own this game? I can get it for $20 (a good price, since it is pretty rare), but I only want it if the games (especially Time Pilot and Gyruss) are arcade-accurate (or at least so close that I would not be able to tell the difference without doing a side-by-side comparison). I know from screenshots that for the vertical games, the score/status display is moved to the right of the action screen, but I don't mind that if they play the same (I actually prefer it if it allows for keeping the same aspect ratio). Also, the ability to save high scores is a big plus, but if the gameplay is the same then I'll still get it even if it doesn't save them. Does anyone know if it has those qualities? Thanks.

There is a review (http://www.digitpress.com/reviews/konami.htm) of this compilation on this very site!

Cool, didn't realize that. Looks I'm going out to buy it now. I'll post my impressions afterwards, including if it saves scores or not (I hope so).

It's a nice collection of well emulated Konami classics.

Missing some stand-outs from that era that have made their way to more modern Konami collections (Rush N' Attack, Track & Field)

Worth it IMO just for Yie Ar Kung Fu and Gradius, but everything else on the disc is great.

I have it and I've really enjoyed it. Not sure if it's perfectly arcade accurate, but I thought it was a well-done compo (mostly because I love Pooyan).

Well, I bought it, and I have to say it has exceeded all my expectations. I'm pretty sure the games use the same code as the arcade versions, because at least for Time Pilot, I haven't found any differences in behavior yet. They even save all the high scores! Also, I'm surprised at the quality of the two I've never played (Shao-Lin's Road and Road Fighter). IMO, this has the best games of all the PS1/2 arcade compilations I've played.

Did you mean "Gyruss", or is Gradius unlockable?

Gradius is on the DS Konami's Arcade Classics, Gyruss is on the PSX version.

Got mine about a year ago for $20 as well, for the longest time I've seen it go for far higher, so like me you got lucky to get it on the cheap.

Meant Gyruss. Typed Gradius.

The DS collection is also one of my favorites classic collections. I love me some Track & Field.

I used to have the DS version, but the only reason I bought it was for Time Pilot, and I could barely see the bullets even on a DSi XL so I didn't hold on to it for long. I kinda wish I did, though, because I recently got into Tutankham.

I know that this topic is ancient, but I created it, so whatever.

I just found out a neat secret for this game from this video:

You can unlock a 99 lives setting by beating the default high score for all ten games. I haven't seen this posted to any cheat site ever, so I thought I'd share here.

Sweet. Didn't know that.

I know that the Konami code does something unique/different for each game on the GBA Konami Classics game.
