I recently made a homemade famicom to NES adapter using gyromite and was wondering what famicom exclusives are must haves. I currently only have Airwolf for famicom. Man that version is way better than the NES version, more like the arcade.

You should be able to get Devil World pretty easily. It's the one Shigeru Miyamoto game that was never released stateside. I also recommend Gradius II and Joy Mecha Fight.

He also produced Doki Doki Panic for the Famicom Disk System. Never released in the states, but was redesigned into Super Mario Bros. 2 for America.

I remember hearing about doki doki panic. I don't think I want to try messing with a disk system yet.

I have a Disk System (lucky get from an "untested" eBay lot).
For the Disk System (and for English speakers, because I don't think Yuuyuuki and Famicom Tantei Club are that fun when I can't read the language), I'd probably suggest Nazo no Murasamejo, Ai Senshi Nicol, Moero Twinbee, and... well, whatever you could find on the "dirt cheap".

You should get Sweet Home and Uforia.

Holy Diver - Platformer a la Castlevania
Quarth - Shooter
Binary Land - Fun action puzzler
Gimmick! - Rare platformer everywhere but Japan
Wai Wai World 1 & 2 - Platformer that combines Konami characters.
Joy Mecha Fight- Simple Brawler with superb graphics. Made by Nintendo also.
Contra-Same game but severly improved with cutscenes and animated backgrounds.
Famicom Wars- The first in the Advance Wars franchise. If you played the sequels you might notice missing features but it's still good either way.
Eggerland: Souzou heno Tabidachi-A more traditional Lolo adventure, though, like most of the Japanese Lolo games, the puzzles were re-used in the later levels of the American games in a sort of willy-nilly fashion.
