...when you remember that you have games stashed away somewhere that you forgot about?
Today my Retro Duo came in, along with my FF5 import, and while hooking it up, I remember "Hey, my friend dropped off some SNES games for me about 2 or 3 months ago... I wonder what happened to them..." and then I found them 2 minutes later.
Donkey Kong Country 2, Mortal Kombat 3, and Sim City.
Ah yes...

My friend moved to his new place recently and I visited him 2 weeks ago. He gave me back 4-5 games that he borrowed from me a while ago.

I recently found a CIB Earthbound for SNES buried in my game closet.
I have just started to play it for the first time. The "Players Guide" has
never been opened. I think that I will keep it that way for now.
Also found an old dusty 2600 box,,,,Mr Do!s Castle. The box has the
game and Instruction manual. The box looks like it sat in a kids closet
under a pile of old shoes for a long time.
I should probably look for more Forgotten games in my Game closet.

When I was in high school, I had been looking for some games for a few years and decided I would find them no matter what (or finally realize they were stolen, which most of them were).
After a lot of digging in the closet, I only found one of the games I was looking for, which was Elevator Action. Although I was disappointed that a lot of games were stolen, I was happy to find Elevator Action, which was the main game I was looking for anyway!

I like that a lot better than when I go to the game store and come home with five games I already own. Xo
It's always nice to go through your shelves/boxes/etc. every once in a while so you can say, "Oh yeah, I have this!"

I had that same problem until I put everything into Collectorz Game Database Software. http://www.collectorz.com/game/ Now that it is available on Droid and iPhone I keep it with me on the road.

I just found a Tutorvision and CIB Stadium Events in my tree house. They aren't perfect, of course...I mean, who would believe that? They aren't for sale, but I'll solicit offers shortly. Then I'll burn the poor sucker who didn't know better than to think I found two CIB rarities just kickin' it in my magic closet.
EDIT: I mean my magic tree house.

I tend to keep good track of my games(with a certain exception) these days, so I don't tend to run into surprises very often.
However, that certain exception tends to be my Sega Game Gear and the games I have for it, which are still buried in a box in one of my closets somewhere. I forget all about it and only remember it again whenever I see something that reminds me of it.
I don't even remember what all games I have for it, and just now I looked and still couldn't find it, but I am 100% certain that it's still in my possession. Somewhere.

Yeah, I have that software too. I love it, but I don't have a smartphone. I use the DP guide to keep track of most of my stuff, but if I go out somewhere and don't have it with me, I'm left to my memory.

This happened to me a few months ago. I was in my room looking at my game closet when I noticed I had a boxed copy of Sonic the Hedgehog for Genesis. I know that's not too big of a deal, but I couldn't remember when I got it. I can usually remember that I have certain games too, so it was a little weird for me.

Yeah all I found in my basement was an old Adventurevision. It doesn't even have the box though so meh.

I actually went to the used game store once, purchased an Y's III SNES cart, drove home. Totally forgot I bought it, and left it in the car. MONTHS later I remembered it, and looked in the car - no where to be found. Not sure if I still had it in the plastic bag or what, and accidently thought it was trash and threw it away? Did I bring it inside? I have no idea, I searched high and low for it. I wonder if it will pop up one day, or maybe it's in a landfill now. I dunno, wish I had it though, still itching to play it on the SNES again.

When it comes to video games, there are no dangers, only benefits! :p

I wish this happened to me. I'm not old enough to have anything older than N64 kicking around, and since I didn't even have an N64, there's no chance of me finding anything. I was a strictly handheld guy back then, and even then I know where all my games are :P
