View Full Version : Why is there no team communication in BF BC2?

More often than not, I get online in Battlefield BC2 and play Rush (my favorite mode).
I get into games where no one is organized, no one protects the objectives, and people just run around getting completely destroyed by a far better and more organized team. So, last night I just got fed up, said 'F%#@ this' and just turned off the PS3 in frustration.
Anyone else think that they should have included team communication in this game (instead of just having squad only communication)? Why can't I atleast mention to the team that 'their in our base raping our s$#t!'?

I play this on 360, and its the same. But I never use a mic on BFBC2 so perhaps I'm part of the problem. I'm not going to chat w/ random people. It NEVER ends well. Most of the multiplayer medals and rankings are individual in nature, wins/losses don't matter as much as they do in say Halo. Only thing you get for a win in BFBC2, besides the ego boost, is the 100 pt. exp bonus at the end. You get just as much exp in two kills. So for better or worse, you get a lot of lone wolf sniper types trying to up their K/D.
The one I hate is when I'm playing engineer, and I'm riding shotgun in a tank. We get hit w/ a rocket or something, I hop out to fix our ride... and the dude drives off, leaving me out in the open to die and the tank gets asploded.

I don't play Battlefield Bad Company, but I've play Uncharted 2 a lot as well as Modern Warfare 2 some. I'm also one who doesn't talk to random people while I'm playing a game but I probably should.
One thing that sucks about playing shooters online is that it doesn't matter how good you are but also matters how good your team is. When playing Uncharted 2 80% of the time there are people on another team that join together. If I get unlucky enough to be against an entire group in the same clan usually I'm going to have retards as allies. Also whenever getting an entire group in one clan, they play well together and actually have a strategy. Then when you get an ally on your team with two kills and 20 deaths, you really wish you knew more people that played the game.
I know a few people that own Uncharted 2 but they don't play it anymore so can't really ask them.

I'm with you there Dobie. I frequently ride in Helicopters and when the driver ditches the heli in water, or in a vehicle where they just drive right into the path of a waiting tank.
Maybe i'm just venting, but its good to know i'm not the only one who longs for better team communication for BFBC2.

I am in the same league as you .... no matter how good are you if you are alone against an organized team, you will be easily crushed.
I have just bought a bluetooth headset and try to communicate with my team because i need to win a few multiplayer trophies :P
Communication is a MUSTif you want to be competitive

Hah, the memories of playing BFBC2 earlier this year.
I can attest to driving a helicopter, it getting critically damaged, flying to a remote spot, getting out to repair it, and only to see the other person jump in the driver's seat and fly off before I even get started.
Well, I usually played hardcore so I almost always killed everyone that tried that on me. ;)
This happens in almost every FPS with vehicles. People go insane if there's a tank or helicopter that they can drive around.

If I'm not playing with friends, I usually don't even put my headset on.
That being said, Onslaught Mode requires the use of mics. Teamwork is the only way to successfully make it through the levels on Hardcore difficulty.
